24.01.2022 What will my first appointment look like? Our initial appointments at Nillumbik Osteopathic entail a detailed case history to fully understand your presenting complaint. We will also go through a past medical history and a systems screen to get a good understanding of your overall health. From here, we'll jump into our examination which may include orthopaedic and neurological tests, postural assessments and a variety of range of motion screens.... Once we have explained our findings to you it's time for hands on treatment! This may include a mixture of soft tissue massage, joint manipulations, cranial techniques, muscle energy techniques, stretching and more. In order to maintain the effects of treatment you may be given a set of stretches and/or strength exercises. As osteopathy is very much a holistic approach to health and well being, your practitioner may also give you advice about nutrition, sleep and physical activity

14.01.2022 In order to get a good nights rest, it's important to have a good, supportive pillow. When choosing a new pillow, look for one that will keep your neck in neutral alignment which supports the natural curvature of the spine. We love our memory foam pillows that come in a variety of densities from soft to firm. If you're in need of a new pillow, chat to one of our Osteopaths at your next appointment!
