24.01.2022 With a week to go - mail your ballot by Friday 23 October 2020 !!! Here is an important message of endorsements!

21.01.2022 A good local project as we come out of Covid-19

18.01.2022 As we have come to expect, the dark green whinger / whiner muppets have been complaining to council demanding that those who still have the original C81 / C101 (both gone) signs, from FOUR years ago, displayed on your own private property have to be removed BECAUSE THEY ARE ELECTION MATERIAL!!! . If anyone from council (or any green muppets) approach you, or send you correspondence demanding that these signs be removed or you will be fined, please let PALs know immediate...ly. These signs ARE NOT ELECTION MATERIAL and you have every right to keep them displayed, if you so choose. These signs related to a now concluded campaign to remove unwanted, unlawful and ultimately government dismissed planning scheme amendments, C81 and C101. THEY ARE NOT RELATED IN ANY WAY TO ELECTION MATERIAL OR COUNCIL ELECTIONS. These were circulated and mounted in response to a totally different campaign undertaken many, many months before the council elections of 2016. If you are approached by council officers, or receive council correspondence ring the CEO, Carl Cowie at the council immediately, or email him at [email protected] The CEO is aware of the bogus complaints and will stop and dismiss any council action. 17.01.2022 To ALL residents in Nillumbik, now is the time to prepare.

14.01.2022 To those who have not yet voted, only five days left, now's the time to fill in your ballot paper. Make sure you number all boxes, and mail it before this Friday. Vote 1 Meralyn Klein

14.01.2022 The RIGHT TO CONTRIBUTE, the RECOGNITION of the contribution, the proper RESPECT for the contributor. These are some of the basic values PALs follow and apply across the spectrum in relation to council, council processes and council responses. It should be a basic REQUIREMENT FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE. However, this has been sadly lacking in previous councils with landowners denied the above basic rights. Previous councils have, through the conduct of council officers along with co...mpliant or subservient Councillors, actively denied those rights to contribute to selected landowners directly affected, except for a very small number of dark green activists. It is not acceptable that such a small, biased and ideologically driven band of zealots control over 90% of the Shire. Candidates for this election, including those who have previously served as Councillor’s as well as the dark green zealots hiding behind the word independent, wish to take this council back to those days where only these self-appointed arbiters of people’s rights control what they perceive you are, and should be, allowed to do on your property. Please make sure that your vote delivers good governance, fair representation and appropriate leadership. Make sure that your vote rejects the return of the dark times and the dark green agendas. Do not be fooled by their benign rhetoric., they WILL take down a dark path. VOTE 1 Karen Egan (BUNJIL), Narelle Campbell (SUGARLOAF), Zac Lombardo (SWIPERS GULLY), Venu Metla (ELLIS), Richard Stockman (BLUE LAKE), Meralyn Klein (EDENDALE) and David Mulholland (WINGROVE). 08.01.2022 Long overdue in my opinion. Oh yeah, and while the new council is at it, they could actually do something about the deplorable state of the roadsides. We have a new council. Will they take a responsible stance on making our major roads as safe as is possible in the advent of a major bushfire? The state of vegetation on the roadsides is a disaster waiting to happen. Good on the students from year 9 at Eltham College for raising the issue of a footpath, it is a most worthwhile project. Will they get any action from our new council......don't hold your breath!! https://www.change.org/p/the-local-mp-build-a-pedestrian-fo

03.01.2022 As a community - we are SO lucky to have a woman like Mayor Egan literally putting her life on hold for all of us. Thanks Karen - from more than 1500 PALS and their families along with the entire community of Nillumbik. But don’t think you can disappear yet. ... You’ve still got a job to do - SO LET’S GET THIS DONE TOGETHER! We are all behind you. A Brownlow worthy effort to date.

01.01.2022 From: Tara Jolfaei Subject: Plenty River Trail Open for Community Engagement Date: 30 October 2020 at 4:01:28 pm AEDT Good Afternoon, Hope you are all having a fantastic day.... As some of you may be aware, the Victorian Government is investing in a new Plenty River Trail as a part of the Plenty Gorge Park Project. The new Plenty River Trail aims to deliver the missing link between University Hill in Bundoora to the south and Doreen in the north. It will also link to the new Mernda and Hawkstowe railway stations and create community access into Plenty Gorge Park. Unfortunately, there is no mention of a link to the east side of the trail where Yan Yean Rd shared path is located. The project is currently in the process of taking feedback from all key stakeholders and community. You will be able to submit feedback by email [email protected] or via phone on 131 963. This would also be a great opportunity to provide feedback on potentially linking the trail to the Yan Yean Rd shared path across the river. There is also opportunity to register to attend and learn more by visiting www.engage.vic.gov.au/plenty-river-trail. There will be plan in-park activities as and when the health restrictions permit. The key dates for engagement activities are: Thursday 12 November (6:00pm-7:30pm) Wednesday 25 November (6:00pm-7:30pm) Tuesday 8 December (5:30pm-8:30pm) I have attached a Briefing Pack that includes some project key messages, frequently asked questions. If you have any questions please, do not hesitate to contact me either via email or mobile on 0415 409 078. Kind Regards, Tara Tara Jolfaei Landscape Architect Environment Services [email protected] See more
