23.01.2022 Spending thousands of dollars on commercial advertising for our little festival is something we’re finding a little strange, so here at Nimbin Roots Festival we’ve introduced Crap Ads and decided to ask our audience to send us their own crap (but funny) ads as an experiment to see if they work just as well. 10.01.2022 Unfortunately after a lot of consideration and holding on for as long as we possibly could, we have decided to postpone Nimbin Roots Festival. This is due to the fact that there are COVID cases popping up in NSW sporadically at the moment and that means we can’t monitor where people are coming from within NSW and ultimately means us not being able to guarantee the health and safety of both attendees and the Nimbin community. HOWEVER, the good news is, we will be back next ye...ar with a bigger and better festival and to celebrate a much needed time for both artists and music lovers! We are all missing and craving live music Dates for 2021 - September 10-12 All Nimbin Roots Festival ticket holders will be contacted regarding their ticket options and if you are a ticket holder and for some reason don’t receive an email, please send us one to [email protected] We’re excited that with your support, we’re able to offer a pretty good outcome from something that has been so awful for so many. 08.01.2022 Nimbin Roots festival will be going ahead as planned on September 11-13. As Nimbin Roots festival is not an outdoor event and is set in various small venues throughout the village of Nimbin, we are able to go ahead as planned and if need be, will monitor the amounts of people in each venue to adhere to any Covid-19 restrictions that may be in place at the time of the event. If the event does need to be postponed due to any unforeseen new COVID restrictions, all ticket purcha...sers can choose to either have their ticket credited for the new date set for 2020 or for the following years festival. PLEASE NOTE : We understand that some people may need a refund for their ticket if in the unlikely event that the festival dates need to be changed and the new set dates don't suit and they can't attend in 2021. We ask that before requesting a refund, you consider that we have kept our ticket prices very low ($90 for the weekend) which is below cost price this year to not only help support the customer, but to support the musicians and the arts community by doing everything we can to ensure that this event can go ahead this year and can be sustained into the future for the benefit of the wider community. 07.01.2022 *** We’re working hard to hang in there with regulations and restrictions, but they’re tightening on a daily basis at the moment. The next 2 weeks are going to give us a lot more information *** Hopefully positive information. 06.01.2022 ** COVID-19 update ** Nimbin Roots Festival is still going ahead as planned on September 11-13. We have been in communication with the NSW government regarding our event and as it will be small scaled and is held in various INDOOR venues throughout Nimbin Village, then the same guidelines apply to us as they do any other indoor business including pubs, clubs, etc. Attached is the link to the current rules in NSW. ... It has been a big decision to keep the event going and one that has not been taken lightly. This is not a decision based on our financial gain (as we’ve seen some comments on social media suggest). We are not a major festival. We are a small scaled event run as a family business and going ahead this year with the event in the current situation means we are operating well below cost. Our decision to go ahead is based around the need to support the arts..the need to support original music and the arts has never been greater. The need to support the community...Many small businesses in Nimbin rely on the boost they get from out of town visitors to Nimbin Roots Festival. For those who are familiar with and have supported our event over the years, you will know that our ethos has always been to hold original music as our number 1 priority and as long as we are able to do this in a safe environment and comply with any safety standards, we will continue to do so. 05.01.2022 *** ANNOUNCEMENT *** Nimbin Showground have just advised us that they are not opening for camping until the end of the year. They may consider opening and changing their minds, but as this plan DOES NOT help or suit us, then we are now encouraging people to book at Lismore Showground. They have enough space for everyone, plenty of powered sites if you want to bring a van, brand new showers and full amenities AND they’re cheap! $25 per couple. They are a 25 minute drive (one o...f the prettiest country drives you’ll ever do) so we encourage car pooling. We will provide dedicated festival parking in Nimbin. Here is some more info about Lismore Showground including phone number etc..although bookings aren’t required. PLEASE NOTE It says on the below link that camping in tents isn’t permitted, but that does NOT apply for Nimbin Roots Festival.
