17.01.2022 The designs for a major upgrade to Chatswood Public School and Chatswood High School have been unveiled! https://architectureau.com//school-on-a-hill-and-school-i/ NAH have worked alongside Architectus and SINSW to provide heritage advice on the final designs (See Architecture AU article below for more details)... Chatswood Public School’s oldest buildings, Buildings A and B, were constructed in 1895. They are locally significant as grand school buildings in a setting which gives aesthetic significance to the streetscape. The two buildings capture undisturbed views and vistas west towards Blue Gum Reserve and further to Lane Cove National Park and provides a distinctive, designated open space for children (called ‘The Lowers’). NAH has provided advice to ensure that the new Buildings P1 and P2 do not interfere with the significance of the site and that The Lowers are retained. Chatswood High School was established on this site in 1959 and has continued to grow since then. The works to the High School are required to respond to the nearby heritage items, including the Public School.

16.01.2022 Some of our favourite photos from our work on Mirrabooka Study Centre! The timber provides a pleasing orange-honey colour palette and homely warmth to the residential and educational facilities of the centre (not to mention makes the oranges in the garden look extra delicious ). The project looked at developing the existing 1894 heritage listed Victorian Italianate villa, 'Mimosa', into an education centre for the EDA. Heritage refurbishment, alterations and additions were ...made to the existing building fabric, as well as the construction of a new detached study centre. The originally residential dwelling is now used for various educational programs such as professional seminars, mentoring, study sessions, interstate trip and overseas service projects to help young students in St Mary's in Western Sydney to grow in character and enjoy the process of learning.
