Do you feel guilty doing things for yourself because the kids need to go to gymnastics, and soccer, and swimming and....... you get the point. BUT inside you're tired. Stressed. Overwhelmed. You just need a break. Girlfriend the reality is you DO have enough time to look after your own needs and wants. There is enough time to do all the things, have a successful career, be a great mum and a loving partner. You can be fit, smash your goals and feel healthy and energised every day WITHOUT sacrificing your responsibilities. The secret is priorities. 12.01.2022 Hi! I’m Marissa. For those of you who don’t know much about me, here’s a few fun facts 1. I was born in Sydney and have since lived in between Australia, New Zealand and Rarotonga [Cook Islands]. 2. I’m a qualified Event Manager but decided to pursue training woman when my friend suggested I do so since i was always trying to convince my friends to train with me ... 3. I’m an introvert at heart and was SO insecure and shy my entire life until I landed a sales job in Brisbane city when I was 20. I’m talking, I would never have been able to look you in the eye or continue a conversation to save my life. If you know me now that’d be so weird to you 4. My husband Alex and I had 0 interest in each other when we first met at our workplace Fitness First. Yet we’re married after 11 months of dating and now have 5 kids 7, 5, 2, 1 and 4 months 5. 11.01.2022 A wise person once said I didn’t wait for circumstances to change I changed, and then my circumstances changed too. Chatting to my clients it’s normal for them to stabilise their hormones... lose 1kg every 2 weeks have more energy experience less anxiety, unhappiness and overwhelm They put in the work and they reap their due reward. If your mental and physical health isn’t where you want it to be, how long will you accept this? 3 months? A year? Facts are if you don’t change, neither will the quality of your life. A question to help you move forward: if I don’t make changes now, how will my life look like in 10 years? Then, does this projection reflect the life and person I want to have/become? Truth is, most women don't have it easy - every ones body is different and while some girls body's do snap back naturally after birth, most women are actually put...ting in hard work behind the scenes and only sharing the highlights of their positive progress with you. 08.01.2022 Personal trainer Pros - Safely exercise with their critique - They can push you to go harder than you would alone - Gives you accountability ... Cons - Very expensive (hundreds per week) - Doesn’t teach you about the food component which is responsible for 80% of your weight loss results - Teaches you to rely on someone else to show up Youtube Pros - Easily accessible - Free - Can workout in your living room so you’re comfortable and don’t need to see people Cons - The person you’re watching may not be a qualified trainer so higher risk of injury - Just because the workouts they’re doing work for them, doesn’t mean they’ll work for you - Progress is about progressive overload, when you continuously copy different peoples workouts, you aren’t following a specific program designed for results . Yes you might be working out so you’ll be improving your health, BUT you won’t necessarily see weight loss results with it Pills/shakes/diets Pros - Easy - Fast ‘results’ Cons - All quick fixes that cause you to lose weight quickly, then regain it all (+ more) once you stop - Makes you hungry, decreases your health due to lack of vitamins nutrients and minerals from REAL food - Is unsustainable, usually created by money making machines NOT health focused companies, and tends to be way overpriced These are all ‘weight loss/health’ solutions that big chain companies push on the masses. While there are definitely pros to each ‘solution’, there are definitely the same amount of cons as well ! Just be aware of these things as you go into 2021 - remember there’s a REASON you keep failing at your goals each year, maybe the problem isn’t actually you? Maybe the problem has been your method of ‘solution’ the entire time!

06.01.2022 FACT: The 5 people you spend the most time with have the biggest influence on you . For me this is actually a good thing as it’s my immediate family My husband - marriage is a mirror, it reflects who you are - positive AND negative. ... He helps me recognise when I’m eating too much chocolate when he walks out and smiles at me (he likes it cos it means less attention from other men ) . He’ll ask me if I’m going to the gym that day (accountability). And he himself does his best to train at home even though we have 3 little ones running through his legs . My kids: they teach me to be patient, kind and caring. They’ll tell me to say sorry when I’ve been unkind, they show me I’m positively helping them form healthy habits when they say ‘this is delicious mum!’ Eating vegetables Or ‘look mummy I’m doing squats’. 3. I make an effort to catch up with a friend a fortnight, and most of my friends eat healthier than me so it’s always nice having that encouragement too. Be aware of who you’re spending time with - they have the ability to help improve your eating habits, as well as influence you to become unhealthy See criticism as an opportunity for growth - it takes a lot of self confidence and love to accept comments people may make that make you feel less than, but it’s important to look at their intention. Was what they say intended to hurt? If so - ignore them! But if there’s any truth in their comment, or they were mentioning something to help you grow , then accept it with a humble heart and use it as a way to improve yourself. Both in your personal qualities and health tag a friend who you appreciate below! It’s important to acknowledge them

02.01.2022 Do you have any fears around starting your fitness journey? Maybe you don’t, but maybe you definitely do... Do the excuses ‘I’ll start Monday’ ‘I’m too busy and can’t fit in time’ ... ‘I have no motivation’ Sound familiar? These are surface level ‘excuses’. They’re your inner voice keeping you safe because even if you don’t realise it - there are actually deeper fears holding you back from committing to working on your fitness. How do you know? Well you ask yourself ‘why’? Why can’t you start Monday? Why are you too busy? Why do you have no motivation? And once you get an answer for these, you continue asking ‘why’ until you simply cannot go any further. The end result will be your true reason, and that reason is usually some sort of fear. Fears like ‘I’m scared people will think I look stupid exercising because I have no idea what I’m doing’ ‘People will judge me, laugh at me, think im so unfit/fat/useless’ ‘I’m scared of how hard it’s going to be, what if I can’t keep up? What if I hate it?’ ‘What if I sacrifice everything, put in so much effort and nothing changes with my body, mental health or self esteem?’ I’ve been exercising myself for 8+ years now, but when I first started I had every single one of those fears myself. I STILL have these fears when I try new styles of exercise like CrossFit training or endurance exercises and it’s nearly been a decade! You’re not alone. And those fears, while they may seem scary - they’re not working for you. In fact they’re holding you back from reaching your potential - from discovering new limits and challenging yourself to BE BETTER. You are worthy! And you are 100% capable of achieving it all too. So what fears do you have? Acknowledge them. Know it’s okay to feel that way. Know you’re not alone. And then do the work anyway because you are the type of woman who does not allow fear to keep you from shining. 01.01.2022 Are going for walks REALLY going to get your body to where you want it to be? Look - I’m personally not a fan of walking, but maybe you are! And I totally get it, it’s soothing for the soul, totally relaxing, it can help you clear your mind and it can be a great workout if you’re walking at a decent speed. But is walking going to get tone your arms, legs and thighs? Is it going to tighten your tummy or improve your fitness? ... Honestly,,, it probably won’t. While walking is a GREAT healthy habit to include in your weekly routine, there are definitely more effective ways to lose weight and tone up. Don’t totally chuck out walks altogether, as I mentioned they have a bunch of awesome benefits especially if it’s something you enjoy. But remember just like diets and cardio, walking tends to be placed on a pedestal when it comes to weight loss, and honestly it doesn’t burn that many calories. Losing weight and toning up happens when You eat less food + you move your body more So if your plan is to go for walks (or diet or do cardio) this year in order to lose weight - save yourself time and search for other more effective methods instead ? Lifting weights ? HIIT ? Boxing etc... I’m curious, Do u enjoy walks? They’re more like a chore for me
