20.01.2022 WATERMANSHIP PROGRAM The aim of the Watermanship Program is to help the individual surfer and waterperson evolve by enhancing the body’s own capabilities through physical training, skill development, and freedive coaching. This program is tailored specifically to watermen by watermen for maximum benefit. You will learn and develop the skills needed to overcome personal limitations, whether you’re a weekend warrior or a big-wave surfer with the added bonus of1 the chance to b...ecome a SSI qualified level 1 open water freediver. Why incorporate freedive/apnea training? You can’t control what the ocean will do, you can only control how your body will react Freediving focuses on increasing breath hold and mental relaxation. Apnea training gives watermen the tools and techniques needed to remain calm in extreme situations. Watermen will learn how to trigger the Mammalian Dive Reflex which is what will help you hold your breath comfortably and recover faster when experiencing a wipe-out. ‘It’s all in the mind, and when the mind knows what the body is capable of it can relax with often incredible results’ the watermanship program is a 2 day course that involves a SSI level one open water freedive qualification and skill development that will help and enhance your comfort and confidence in your chosen water soprt if its from surfing , spearfishing or recreational snorkeling. $500 Course plan What to bring: Pen papper Wet suite, fins , snorkel and mask , weight belt and weights (if you dont have any of these items please let us know ) Towel Water Hat Sunglasses Snacks (there will be an hour break for lunch where you will have the opportunity to grab some food ) A change of dry clothes What we provide: SSI online educational pack SSI accreditation Confined water training in a 25m pool Safety equipment Access to training loacations Theory training Expert tuition Fully accredited SSI freedive instructors Qualified Personal Trainer Surf Coach On both mornings we advise to avoid caffeine and avoid heavy meals prior to diving DAY 1 8am -4pm (times may vary) Start in Dunsborough for papper work and introduction Theory : The fundamentals of freediving and waterman ship Equipment talk Pool session Openwater session Theory: Physiology and safety Finish day Day 2. (Summer courses will finish in March) The water is warm and we are ready for our summer season at Ningaloo Coast Freedivers.... Whats on offer for summer; Try one of our Level 1 courses and become a certified freediver November 26th & 27th December 10th & 11th (more course to come) $500 including all course materials Level 2 December 12th, 13th & 14th $700 including all course materials Fun dives for certified divers - line training and fun reef dive $100 We can go out any day Minimum 3 divers Pool training for certified and non certified divers - work on statics, dynamics and technique. 1 on 1 $50/hr or $25p/p If dates do not suit please enquire and we can tailor some dates to suit you.
