14.01.2022 This National Reconciliation Week, we pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation, the traditional owners of the land on which we are located. We acknowledge the traditional custodians and their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past and present, and to the youth, for the future. #MoreThanAWord #NRW2021 #Reconciliation

13.01.2022 Aurora Internship recipient Courtney recently spent six weeks with Ninti’s Alice Springs team and has provided a summary of her work with us. This is a shortened version of Courtney (pictured right with Ninti staff Megan and Hyemi)’s experience: From the very first day, I was welcomed, listened to and offered exciting opportunities to get involved in Ninti One’s work. I was inspired by the fact all members of the Ninti team were motivated by managing sustainable programs tha...t have a genuine purpose in Indigenous communities. My time was mostly split between two projects: Stronger Communities for Children and Connected Beginnings. My work with both of these projects was insightful and interesting. During my placement, I was so excited to be able to visit a community participating in the Stronger Communities for Children program. We conducted interviews and focus groups and listened to local community members on their thoughts about the program, what was going well and what needs to be improved. It was eye-opening to see genuine, first hand perspectives on existing community programs, and I am thankful for the opportunity to connect with these people. The Ninti team wishes you luck with your future pursuits, Courtney! @AuroraProjectInternships #AuroraInternship #Aboriginal #TorresStraitIslander #AliceSprings #Indigenous #StrongerCommunitiesforChildren #ConnectedBeginnings
