25.01.2022 It is important to always ask if your friends and family are okay. Today is R U OK? day where we are encouraged to ensure that the people around us are okay and if not to give them the support needed, not just today but on going support. R U OK? Day promotes that a conversation can change a life so they encourage to ask, listen , encourage action and check in on your friends and family. 2020 has been an extremely challenging year for everyone and it is so important to check ...in and ask the questions as someone you know could be struggling. Nintirri Domestic and Family violence services offers on going support to those in need who may be struggling but not feeling comfortable to reach out. The impacts of DV effect a persons mental health extremely and this needs to be spoken about. Ensure to ask the people around you R U OK? and point them in the right direction for support. Contact Fay on 0400 206 079 for support.

20.01.2022 Welcome to Day 2 of Womens Health Week 2020. Today is all about cardiovascular health. A heart health check is the all-important first step in knowing your risk of cardiovascular disease and the best way to side-step it. Here are the health checks you need to look after your cardiovascular health, and how often you need them.... - Blood pressure check every 2 years after you turn 18. - A blood test to check cholesterol levels every 5 years after you turn 45, or more often if at higher risk. - A blood test to check for diabetes every 3 years after you turn 40, or more often if at higher risk. - Weight check every 1 to 2 years. If you are aged 45 years+ (or 35 years+ if you are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage), its recommended that you see your doctor for regular heart health checks. One of the best ways to look after your heart health is MOVEMENT! Get your body moving today with a cardio workout by Sam Wood, one of the Womens Health Week Ambassadors https://vimeo.com/455363970 Or check out one of our great fitness classes in Tom Price this week, all free of charge for Womens Health Week. Today at Nintirri Playgroup from 9am-11am the CHWB Team will be setting up a Health Stall with information and recipe ideas and we will be available for womens health advice. Pop in to say hello and grab a pink smoothie! Dont forget we have our Womens Health Chat on at 6.30pm tonight at the Nintirri Centre!
