Thankyou for always sharing Paige ... #Repost @paigeyogafits Do you ever have one of those days where you feel like you cant get anything done, youre making silly mistakes and everything is just a mess?? Today has been one of those for me and after a few ranty messages to the hubby I went to do a rant in my stories and then I looked at myself and took some selfies instead - not typical behaviour for me. I wanted my socials to be something I could look back on in tough times to remind myself of how strong I am, how important mindset is and how far Ive come. That happened by looking at myself today and its weird...but I am so greatful to be in a good place esspecially in the state of the world. I am no guru and I dont have answers to lifes big questions but I am here for anyone who needs a friend through this mess of life @awolcreations beautiful wall @nin.yoga for this beautiful space #yoga #yogateacher #mentalhealth #weallhavebaddays #rants #messoflife #connection #paogeyohafots #selfhealer #mindset #mindfullness

19.01.2022 This morning I was like, mhmmm ill re-share a picture of me doing yoga a while back just for fun, considering Im teaching 4 classes today (thats way above my usual quota of classes in a day btw!) To me personally, street dogs represent yoga. Anyone who went to India with me at some point knows I spent every spare moment with the dogs. ... I picked out all their ticks, I even remember once pouring coconut oil down a puppies ear because the ticks where so thick that the whole inside of the ear was black of ticks and it was the only was to saturate them and get them out. Every break in between teacher training I would go deliver water, feed them, give them their medicine, treat their skin, and find ways to raise money to get them de-sexed. I failed my philosophy theory exams because that class was always after lunch, and I would hide behind the yogic text and nap... It was the sacrifice in my head I had to make so i could spend the lunch break serving the doggo, rather than napping like you really should if you want to make it through teacher training, cause it was too hot to do anything else. Anyways I am not sure why I am sharing this random story. I dont want to be praised for how much I love dogs, but it helped me reflect back to the first time I felt like I had a real purpose on this planet. Serving these guys. Now Im a real mum with 3 yoga studios, about to open a 4th, and a community that has always looked out for each other. Thankyou for giving me the opportunity to channel all this energy into something still so powerful. P.S One day I will invite all of Nin Yoga to Rishikesh India to meet my beautiful 4 legged community over there. Just prepare for lots of ticks P.P.S today is RUOK day. Ask yourself this question. I asked it today to my self and it was difficult for me to answer. Its important to reflect and confront whats going on. That is also yoga. #Repost @happynin99 Missing all my children back in India #crazydoglady

16.01.2022 Flora will be leading the 12pm at Blacktown today while Annika stays home watching cartoons with her sick Maya. Thankyou Flora for the cover We know you will look after the community today for us. 4 spots left in the 12pm if you are keen to lay down your mat with her ... #Repost @floracauchi_yoga "Have you always been flexible?" I get asked that all the time... And the short answer is no Ive always been active, for sure, swimming, volleyball, pilates, zumba... But it wasnt until a few years ago that yoga helped me better understand my body, how to stretch properly, how to open my body and how to take a step back when needed that it all began to make sense. The awareness kicked in. Sometimes less is more. Sometimes I can benefit more greatly from a reclined butterfly than from 10 chaturangas. Sometimes yoga just means listening to your body And sometimes a weekly Yin practice is all you need if youre after increased flexibility. Have you tried yin? Whats your favourite posture?

13.01.2022 Just a quick share as to my personal why. Well it ain't really quick, as there are alot of words there, but still, it's important to share. Shoutout to everyone who is in the middle of doing the work, or is looking for inspiration to get started in the first place (often the trickiest speedbump to get over right?)... Thankyou again to all those who are on this journey with us. And if you are keen to lay down your yoga mat with us for the first time, you know where to find us www.ninyoga.com.au/trial (link also in bio) #Repost @happynin99 I have spent the past few days reflecting as to why I do this. Work so very hard. Often from the moment I wake up to the moment my eyes can not look at a screen anymore. Entrepreneur life so far is NOT glamourous, and I am nearly 4 years deep. I don't even know if I can call my self an Entrepreneur yet?! Maybe more a small business owner? Maybe just self employed? Regardless, it's hard. You know when they say you got to "Do. The. Work.", well yeah, that's a real thing, and it's a shit ton of work. Simply put however, I actually don't know if I can do anything else. This is all I want to know. All I want to learn. All I want to become. All I want to be apart of. Growing up, I could never quite put my finger on what I wanted to be one day. To me, it all seemed limiting. Why pick just one thing? I feel extremely blessed to have (in this moment in time) found my thing... and I think it feels like I finally found my thing because it's not actually my thing. It's something that is of complete service to others, which then in turn feel like it also serves me... and technically doesn't belong to me anyway, or anyone else in the first place. Thankyou to everyone who has encouraged me to dream this big so far. Especially my partner Aaron, for sitting next to me, and making sure I read the steps in order rather than just skip to the end, and to of course Maya who has been there with me as we built every single one of these. I still have ALOT of work to do, but as long as we keep reminding ourselves of the why, the rest will just sort it self out, right? Photo by @katrina.katipunan from our @nin.yoga Penrith Open Day.

13.01.2022 @suzieqpole covering the 9am Vinyasa 2 and 11am Foundations at the St Marys Studio this morning, while our beautiful Sarka goes and hosts her retreat in the Blue Mountains this weekend. Fun fact: Did you know that Emma teaches alignment on our Teacher Training too? True story. She is actually doing it again this afternoon for our Saturday group. Another fun fact: 8 years ago, I did my very first pole dancing class at Suzie Q Pole Studio in North Parramatta. I then took up aer...ial arts there too. Fell head over heels in love, and was inspired to quit my day job as a manager of a video game arcade for over a decade to take a massive pay cut and start teaching movement as a contracting teacher instead. From there I travelled to India and discovered yoga, opened a bunch of studios, collaborated to host a teacher training, and now Emma is one of the teachers on that teacher training. How wild is that right?

12.01.2022 Spots in all 3 studios this evening 6pm Vinyasa @ Blacktown @rise_and_rebirth 6pm Yin Yang @ Mt Druitt @littleyogimama 6pm Yin Yang & 7.30pm Yin @ St Marys @mandy_m_patterson ... With this lady @briannaaalaw on the desk at St Marys. Doing a bunch of the things that it takes to keep a studio running. Training Maya here, teaching her how to file away waivers. With Maya Movement opening next door to the St Marys Studio, mum might be in debt again, we need some cheaper labour as a back up ya know I remember my first job was packing veggies with my mum. $20 a day. Was alot of money for me. I could buy alot of red liquorice with that. Good times. Anywho, enjoy your Monday @ Nin Yoga

Without being too pathetic, it really is so special to be able to teach Yoga. And for me it is a dream come true. Not always I was able to do what I love. 10.01.2022 We wont talk tooooo much about Maya Movement here, so if you are keen to follow this crazy new adventure, feel free to follow us #Repost @maya.movement Maya Movement... So Today, we are officially announcing to the universe everything we know about Maya Movement so far Maya Movement is a passion project, with the same class structure and booking system as Nin Yoga, but completely different classes. Teachers we have recruited so far specialize in mindful movements such as Mobility, Conditioning, Handstands, Rings, Aerial Yoga/Hammock/Tissu/Lyra, Barre, Hoop Dance, Ninjitsu.... etc (You know, just all the fun stuff ). We have taken over both buildings on the corner of Queen Street (the Old Saddlery), with one building being the "Gym" and the other hosting "Aerial" (we are still trying to think of cooler names for these rooms!). Nin Yoga members can upgrade their membership so that they have access to these classes also, and Maya Movement members will have Nin Yoga classes included as part of their membership. These buildings are also OLD. Like the tenants before us were in there for over 35 years... so it needs alot of work. We dont know when these studios will open, but we are aiming for October this year if possible! We will release the website with more details at some point, but now, just get excited Western Sydney! Shout out to all the friends and family who inspired Maya Movement in the first place. This place is for all of you @ Maya Movement

09.01.2022 #Repost @rachaelmontgomery4 Part 2 - How to bring the breath Take a deep breath- weve all been instructed to do so but it dont mean much if we dont know how.... I use the analogy of cake to explain how to take a deep breath.. cause who doesnt love cake? As I say to my students in class. this explanation is a journey, so come with me.. The foundation, or at the basic level (the cake part) of a conscious breath, is to deepen the inhale and lengthen the exhale. Nothin too fancy. We look to inhale (belly expands) for say a count for 2 and exhale (belly contracts) for a count of 4. Seems simple enough? This simple action, however has a big reaction in the body. Engaging the diaphragm in a slow, purposeful way actually calms the nervous system. A deep breath sends a message to the body telling it all is well, we are safe to make our way in the world.the heart rate slows, the muscles relax and we meeeelt the stress away, if only for a moment. To add the icing on our cake, we look to pause after the inhale. Im not talking about blowing the cheeks out, face goin red type thing, but a momentary pause at the top of the breath cycle can really sweeten the deal. It brings focus and encourages full oxygen exchange. We work to keep the throat relaxed here. Lastly in our cake analogy, we add the sprinkles! Wahoo look at us go. So we deepen the inhale and lengthen the exhale, add a slight pause after we breathe in and lastly we look to provide resistance when we exhale. What does this mean? We part the lips slightly and breathe out like we are breathing out through a straw. Remember blowing bubbles in the bottom of a glass of lemonade when you were a kid? Same thing. Think slow, smooth, even, out breath. Audible even. Learning how to breathe consciously requires effort, but honestly, after practicing yoga for 15 years, I can hand on my heart say, with the utmost....like believe it to be sooo true deep in my bones.....this little diddy will change your life, let alone your Yoga practice. In moments of confusion, discomfort, panic, envy or pure raw anger, try a deep conscious breath before responding. It might just take you to a different

06.01.2022 When I first looked at this photo all I saw was a wrinkly tired face, holding a very used keep cup full of soy coflo (coffee and milo). I crindged and kept on scrolling. It felt like abit of a reality check as to how the days are slowly taking their toll But I look at it again this morning, with these studios and a toddler, and think that its so totally worth it. This face I guess kind of represents all the lessons learnt so far. All the growth we have, as individuals and a...s a community. Here is to another 3 years of those lessons. In being a mum, in being a sole trader, in being more kind to ourselves, and just in life in general #Repost @pouredbythecup Maya Movement ROOTS Annika is the founder of @nin.yoga and now @maya.movement At the roots of her family-owned business, she pours support and soul into everyone’s work.
