20.01.2022 At Nippers Child Care Centre, our large, all age, play areas allow amazing moments like these to happen. Children of all ages are able to create heart warming relationships that can be seen through simple interactions. The excitement of the older children when the younger children reach new milestones, is amazing to see. There are also opportunities for the children to assist educators in care routines such as feeding and holding bottles.

08.01.2022 Having recently attended a workshop on Protective Behaviours I would like to highlight some important facts that we can all implement at home and at school. While it is a difficult subject to talk about it is important to prepare or equip our children that in the event of being abused either sexually. Mentally or physically to be able to have the steps in place to be able to get help. First and foremost it is very important to teach our children the correct terms of their pr...ivate parts as awkward as it feels or sounds. The reason for this being that in the worst case scenario if a child has been inappropriately touched they can without a doubt let you know that so and so touched my vagina or penis. In a matter before the courts there can in now way be a cause for a perpetrator being let off because the child has given clear evidence of the violation. If "pet names" for private parts such as "doodle" for a penis has been used then we are doing our children a disservice in protecting them or them protecting themselves. Teaching children to understand their emotions or feelings and how those feelings feel to them. Putting words to those feelings.. MY HANDS ARE SWEATY.. i am feeling unsafe or scared. MY HEART IS BEATING FAST. I HAVE GOOSE BUMPS ON MY NECK. MY TUMMY FEELS FUNNY LIKE I NEED TO GO TO THE TOILET. I FEEL LIKE CRYING. These are some of the signs of our body telling us that we feel scared or unsafe and that we need to tell some one that we can trust. Establish a list of people your child can trust and talk to should they feel scared or unsafe. A family member. A close adult friend. A teacher. Discuss these options together with your children and most importantly infom the people that your child has chosen should they need to disclose. Teaching our children different scenatmrios of saying "no!" Eg. Woukd you like to draw.. No thank you. Would you like a lolly asked by a stranger. "NO!" Would you like to play a game of touching our private parts NO LEAVE ME ALONE.. LOUD SO PEOPLE CAN HEAR. (This is to expose a perpitrator) as a perpitrator will not want attention drawn to them. These are just a few ways that we can teach our children to keeping themselves safe. If you would like any more information please dont hesitate to ask.

06.01.2022 At Nippers Childcare Centre, we pride ourselves on the interactions and relationships we have with the children and their families. Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback and your support means the world.
06.01.2022 Welcome to our newest member of the Nippers Family, Billy! Billy was kindly donated to the centre, by a gentleman local to our community. After spending his days as part of an art exhibition, Billy will now join us exploring with the children of Nippers. Already the children in the babies room, make welcoming Billy to the centre, a daily routine. He is included into activities and the children just love exploring his many sounds. ... Over the coming weeks we will assist Billy to find his fishing rod, which he has sadly misplaced on his last fishing trip. "No problem" we said, "we have many natural items, that may be of assistance."
05.01.2022 Welcome to our journey from start to finish, as we renovate the yard and explore the benefits of Nature Play.
04.01.2022 Australia Celebrations 2019 We started off the day dressed up in what being an australian means to us. We had many children come in boardies and thongs and some come in jeans and flannos During Today the toddler and kindy children had the amazing opportunity make some blue and red lamingtons. From sifting the flour to rolling the finished product in coconut the children had loads of fun. ... Cooking experiences are amazing for developing children as it teaches children problem solving, turn taking, cause and affect, mathematics, science aswell as colour recognition and literacy. For lunch the babies joined in with a yummy sausage sizzle. We all had such an amazing day! Remember we are closed monday due to the public holiday
