23.01.2022 Congratulations to these students who have have gained a guaranteed place into Western Sydney University for 2022! They have also have gained a $20 000 and a ...$500 study grant. Thanks to Western Sydney University The College & Nirimba Education Precinct for this unique arrangement where students were selected to study a university course while in Year 11. Due to COVID19 restrictions, the courses were delivered entirely online this year and our students have taken this challenge in their stride. These Scholarships will give students the financial bump needed to take a leap in to a degree at WSU, as well as a boost to morale and a confidence in their ability to work toward a better future. We are extremely proud of all they have achieved and wish them well as they start their HSC year.

21.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week - 2020 We acknowledge the Dharug people as the traditional custodians of the land on which Nirimba Education Precinct stands. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students, families and community members. Whilst we are unable to physically get together, we celebrate the theme of Reconciliation Week, In This Together.

16.01.2022 A successful grant application enabled the building of two shade structures on the ovals at the Nirimba Precinct. The application was a partnership between St John Paul II Catholic College and Wyndham College. The shade structure will provide shade and seating around the sporting fields for the students on the campus. The State member for Riverstone, Mr Kevin Connolly, was on hand to officially inspect the final product. He was joined by members of both schools’ leadership teams and the College leaders. This initiative was made possible because of the Building Community Partnership Grant offered by the NSW Government.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to all the students from St John Paul II and Wyndham who competed their studies at The College through the Access program. Good luck with your results today.

11.01.2022 2020 at Nirimba Education Precinct posed challenges for the four partners and the Precinct as a whole. After a short move to online learning, St John Paul II and Wyndham Colleges remained operational with some restrictions to student activities and visitor access. TAFE moved to online then resumed campus based delivery with connected learning with strong risk management protocols in place. The College moved to online learning with some essential face-to-face practical acti...vities and is staging a return to campus program in early 2021 with a new 'HyFlex' delivery approach. Throughout COVID-19, the Precinct has been able to maintain important collaborative educational programs that enhance the student experience, career and further study opportunities. 20 students from St John Paul II and Wyndham successfully completed online studies in a Higher Education unit at The College. TAFE delivered VET in Schools (TVET) programs continued, with a period of online study. Youth Engagement Strategy (YES) programs were offered in a range of vocational and skills shortage areas. 10.01.2022 Tradewinds Cafe is open for business. The last day of trading for 2020 is Wednesday 16 December.

09.01.2022 20 Year 12 students from St John Paul II and Wyndham Colleges received awards and a study grant for studies with Western Sydney University in 2019. There were no handshakes but lots of smiling faces. Parents and supporters joined the celebration via video conference.

All our students who have completed the unit ...of work will receive an early offer and up to a $20,000 scholarship. Due to the unique nature of being part of the Nirimba Precinct, our students are offered an opportunity to study at WSU The College while completing their Year 11 course. Once they complete the university unit, they are eligible for a scholarship of up to $20,000 and early offer to Western Sydney University, if they receive a high distinction or distinction. Students who receive a credit or pass will still receive an early offer but not the scholarship. 04.01.2022 Selected Year 11 students from St John Paul II Catholic College and Wyndham College attended an orientation day run by WSU today. The sessions were aimed at getting the students started on their university pathway to early entry and a $20 000 scholarship if they are successful in their 13 week course. This offer is exclusive to the two high schools on campus and is a benefit of the Nirimba Precinct Partnership that offers unique pathways for students from school to tertiary study.

04.01.2022 Over 50 students attended a meeting in the Library today to hear how to apply for the WSU Access Scholarship Program worth $20 000 for selected students. We e...ncourage all students who attended the meeting to get started on their applications ready for when online submissions open later this week. 02.01.2022 Congratulations to the following students who were successful in their application for the Western Sydney University Academic Access Program. These students will complete their 13 week university courses entirely online this year starting on 29th June. The Nirimba Academic Excellence scholarship provides motivated students who attend St John Paul II Catholic College or Wyndham College with a unique opportunity to undertake university study at the same time as they undertake ...year 11 at school. This opportunity is a result of the partnership between: the schools; Western Sydney University; and Western Sydney University The College. An agreement between these partners allows up to 20 students each year from the Nirimba schools to gain sponsored enrolment at WSU/WSU The College. Students who successfully complete a unit are able to gain an early offer of enrolment into most WSU courses on the completion of their HSC. Students may also become eligible for the award of a substantial scholarship as a result of successful completion of these units. The 20 available places are allocated to the schools on the basis of their total year 11 and 12 enrolments. Recommendations are made by the Principals and staff of the schools, but WSU/WSU The College ultimately determines which students are able to enrol. They base these decisions on school recommendations and student applications. Students who complete the course will be offered $20 000 scholarship if they receive a distinction or high distinction and an early offer to attend WSU. If the student receives a credit or pass, they will receive an early offer. As part of the scholarship students receive a $500 one-off payment in their HSC year. We wish these students the best of luck in their courses.
