The application of a little stress on the joints increases circulation and improves mobility in these areas . Lengthening tight muscles and tissues can be an uncomfortable process, but the focus on breath to help the body relax and settle is key to this practice . Warrior III - striking forward, releasing yourself from any fears, doubts and insecurities Postures will always have a physical and mental aspect to it but sometimes we focus only on the physical where what we really need is mental clarity.



12.01.2022 Sometimes you just need to roll yourself into a ball and stay there. Pindasana is a great pose to release the spine, especially in the lower back, and stabilise the mind.

11.01.2022 Inversions! Always a scary word in a yoga studio.... thoughts of legs being thrown into the air, trying to balance only to come crashing down . But inversions don’t need to be scary. Inversions are simply where the heart is above the head.... Downward Facing Dog is even considered an inversion . My favourite inversions are those where the feet are above the hips, hips above the heart and heart above the head, some of which are demo’d here... . There are so many benefits of inversions. Assisting blood flow from the feet back to the heart, increasing blood flow from heart to the brain, stimulating the lymphatic system, strengthening balance and focus and calming the nervous system . Gives these ones a shot Viparita Karani (legs up the wall pose), Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand), Sirsasana II (Tripod Headstand) and Sirsasana I (Headstand). 04.01.2022 This week’s focus is on backbends and it’s definitely a practice of patience and perseverance . This is my journey of backbends from when I started yoga to present. Trying to reverse years of poor posture and hidden tension, it hasn’t been easy and definitely frustrating at times and occasionally I do regress, which is totally fine and part of the practice .
