A long term passionate nirranda supporter, committee member, life member, no 1 member , club legend and all round helper. A true gentleman always willing to lend a hand, who will be sadly missed by our community. His willingness to help has been inherited by many of his family members, as current committee members and senior coach. We thank him for his loyalty and dedication towards nfnc , May he RIP . 21.01.2022 ******IMPORTANT WDFNL NETBALL NEWS****** ******VNA******* On behalf of the WDFNL Netball Sub Committee, we would like to thank you all ...for the time and effort that all WDFNL Clubs have put into the season that never was! It's disappointing that we won't have a season this year, but I'm sure we will all be back raring to go in 2021. In relation to those that have already paid their VNA for 2020, I attended a zoom meeting on Tuesday night with Netball Vic regarding their policy and arrangements for refunds. Netball Vic are offering either full refunds, partial refunds or the opportunity to roll your membership over to next season. But what they would really like to encourage people to do, is to pledge your payment as a donation. While we haven't been able to play, there has been much work behind the scenes to support players and associations through some challenges and trying times to get community sport back up and running. They have also moved many courses to an online format that members can take advantage of through your membership. Also keep in mind that your VNA is valid for the whole year, so if you intend to do some pre-season training at the end of the year, you will still be covered. We, WDFNL Netball Sub Committee have decided to pledge our affiliation fees as we have certainly appreciated the support we have received and continue to receive from NV. In the coming weeks, those who have paid their membership can expect to receive an email from Netball Vic, which will give you the information necessary to decide what you would like to do and if you are entitled to a refund. If you have paid your VNA and don't receive that email, please let me know and I will chase it up for you. Netball Vic have released the below spiel, which I would like to share with you - just some points to consider when deciding what you want to do with your membership fees. There is absolutely no pressure from us or them to decide either way, it is totally up to you. If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to give me a call or email. As a sport, we have always done a lot with a little. And this is evident now more than ever. In an environment where some multi-national corporations have faltered, a small, not-for-profit state sporting organisation, is still chugging along. It’s not quite business as normal working environments, staff hours and the way netball is delivered have all had to change but it is business as usual. Netball Victoria exists to improve people’s lives, and we are thankful that they will withstand the pandemic and be there to support organisations like ours and our Clubs now and into the future. Our Association/League is also in a sound position. Things will be difficult, but with the support we receive from both Netball Victoria and our community, we know we will be okay. In all areas of our lives we have been forced to adapt over recent months, and netball has been no exception to this. But at the end of the day we #PlayForTheLove. And the small sacrifices we have had to make will soon seem a distant memory when we are back on the court and thriving once again. A strong Netball Victoria is important to us, not just for our Association/League, but for the overall longevity of the sport we love. At this time, we are strongly encouraging our members to pledge their 2020 Netball Victoria Membership. Your Netball Victoria Membership is an investment in the future of our sport. Having a Netball Victoria Membership is saying, yes, I support my Association/League, my Club, my Coaches and my Umpires. It’s saying I love my netball, and I want to see it thrive on the other side.

05.01.2022 NIRRANDA FNC VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK Another week and another opportunity for us to recognise and reward our great volunteers in partnership with Sinclair Wilson. We are delighted to announce our worthy winner this week is Reagan Dogga Nutting.... Reagan has played all his junior and senior football at Nirranda and this year has put his hand up to coach the Under 18s jointy with Paddy Lee. Reagan and Paddy have done a huge job firstly in recruiting sufficient numbers to field a team, then training and improving our side. Reagan also assists Jodi with maintenance of the ground all year round, has been on social committees, and is always happy to help around the club. As a token of our appreciation we've awarded Reagan a voucher to The Fat Cow Food Co. thanks to Sinclair Wilson. He will also go into the running to be named Volunteer of the Year at the end of season. As a business that works with many community groups across regional Victoria, Sinclair Wilson knows the importance of celebrating the efforts of local volunteers, and recognising them when possible.
