25.01.2022 Nitmiluk Tours, Cicada Lodge and Nitmiluk Heli-Touring, like many other businesses in the Tourism and Hospitality industry in Australia and worldwide, have been affected by the repercussions of COVID-19. Due to the announcement of the Australian Government restricting all non-essential travel, coupled with the closure of the NT borders and our sense of social responsibility in playing a role in minimizing the spread of the COVID-19, we have made the decision to stop the touri...ng and camping operations of Nitmiluk Tours and Cicada Lodge as of 26 March, 2020, until further notice, with the intention to re-evaluate the constant changing situation at the end of April 2020. We will retain a skeleton team to ensure organisation’s continuity. It seems unreal that, only 19 days ago, we were in Canberra receiving 3 Golds and 1 Bronze at the National Tourism Awards. Getting ready for a busy season ahead. Our highest priority is to ensure that we all remain safe and continue to follow the recommendation of the Federal and State Governments to helps stop the spread of COVID-19. Our current Guests and Customers will be contacted in the next 48 hours regarding their bookings, with priority towards March and April bookings. We will continue to keep everyone informed and look forward to reopening as soon as possible. 24.01.2022 We may not be able to fly internationally these days, but today we definitely took to the sky in style! We cruised the skies in a helicopter with Nitmiluk Hel...i-Touring, and this perspective of Nitmiluk National Park is hard to beat. This birds eye views of the stunning #KatherineGorge are something special. Mat, our pilot & guide for the flight even found a special spot to land the helicopter so we could cool off in Biddlecombe cascades . We had the entire place to ourselves. Once we returned back to the heli-pad, it was hard to wipe the smiles from our faces. Hands down, one of our favourite moments in the #northernterritory. Have you ever been in a before? We are safe here in Katherine and Nitmiluk has not been affected by the current fires. Over the weekend Nitmiluk received over 80mm of Rain. The River has begun to flow, and the plants are beginning to flourish. During this time of re-generation for us, we take time to remember those in Bush Fire affected areas across Australia.
