21.01.2022 Come and experience the bliss of Chanting and Meditation with Shivanesh in the beautiful Serenity Space at Scarborough! Chanting the various names of the divine is such a high (and, take it from me, a good singing voice is not a requirement). You should be warned though, it is seriously addictive.

09.01.2022 My very earliest memory of yoga was accompanying Mum to Ailsa Gartenstein's yoga classes at Coorparoo at the age of 3 or 4. Being the late 70s, Ailsa Gartenstein wore a leopard print leotard. When it was time for pranayama, I would get the giggles as we blew up our bellies and forcefully exhaled. About twenty years later, I returned to Ailsa Gartenstein's class. It was in a large hall at Holland Park, full of students, many of whom were presumably long timers, including two ...or three women at the front of the class, legs extended alongside their ears, who appeared to be in their eighties. Ailsa enquired as to what brought me to her class and I said something about wanting to tone my thighs. She just laughed and corrected my triangle pose. I couldn't find a photograph of Ailsa, although a Google search revealed what a lasting impact her teaching had on Brisbane yoga, including through the International Yoga Teachers Association.
