22.01.2022 We are delighted by news of the easing of restrictions, but are also very aware there are still issues caused by COVID-19 that people in our local community are still facing. Such as, disconnection and isolation from the community, or financial hardships from loss of work. But we can help, from a friendly phone chat, linking isolated people to social activities online or directing someone in need to food support programs in the City of Yarra. If you need assistance or know someone who does, get in touch with us on 9948 8613 or email [email protected]

21.01.2022 As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, we’re sharing simple actions we can all take to be part of building a safer world. Day 3: Reflect on how children are targeted and affected by the beauty industry. Stereotypes about how girls, boys, women and men should look... are reinforced everywhere particularly by the beauty industry. The dominance of white bodies in the beauty industry highlights racism in the industry, too. The industry is selling the idea that the value of women and girls lies in their youth, beauty, whiteness and sexuality and not in their skills or capacity as leaders. Take a look at Women’s Health Victoria’s resource on reporting sexist advertising and be bold in calling out sexist or racist representations. https://whv.org.au//reporting-sexist-advertising-toolkit-c #16DaysCampaign
