19.01.2022 SOCIAL DISTANCING APPLIES TO BOATING Planning to hit the water in coming days? You’ll need to remember that social distancing restrictions and limits on groups ...apply to recreational boating, including fishing and water sports. As per the Federal Government’s current restrictions, each person must have at least 4 square metres of space, and be able to keep at least 1.5 metres away from another person including when in a boat. If you’re heading to the water you must also observe the Federal Government’s limits on gathering in groups. Currently groups must be of 10 people or less in South Australia and this measure is being actively policed by SA Police. If you want to fish, and you can maintain a safe distance, remember not to congregate with others around jetties, piers, boat ramps or other land-based fishing locations. And try to fish locally as close to home as possible to avoid non-essential travel. This information may change, so remember to check for the latest updates before you go at: www.sa.gov.au/covid-19
