21.01.2022 Over the weekend I was asked how I manage my own finances. Being self employed and on commission, starting out was really hard. One week of the month I felt in control, the other 3 weeks I felt like I had no cash. These days it's a little easier, as I've changed how I manage my money. The three biggest things I changed to feel like I'm in control?? 1. Pay myself weekly - this feels good and once I built up a buffer in my business account, I could even give myself a small p...ayrise. 2. Pay my bills weekly (or with your pay cycle) - the feeling I get when I open my bills and they're in Credit is really empowering and gives me a feeling of being in control. 3. Use several accounts for budgetting - I have a spending account, bills account and savings account and put money in those from my pay each week. I never scrape to find money for bills now. (the balance of those offset against my mortgage - ask me how!) What things have you done recently with your finances that have helped you to feel financially empowered? #perthmortgagebroker #moneymanagement #moneycoaching #financetips #budgetting #spendingplan #money

17.01.2022 HOW I GOT STARTED IN FINANCE I've been in Banking and Finance for over 33 years. I started off in the good ole R & I Bank at the tender age of 17. I remember sitting the Bank exam, the country girl comes to Perth and there's around 200 people sitting the test on the same day. Then the call comes....you're accepted and start next month.... I didn't always want to be in Banking. I desperately wanted to be a hairdresser, but after work experience I was told I was too rough when washing the clients hair. So my next choice was Banking....to be honest I've never looked back. Even on the challenging days I still get a kick out of getting loan approvals through. How did you start out in your career? Did you end up in your first choice of career? #hairdresserimnot #bankingandfinance #lovemyjob

11.01.2022 When you're looking to buy a new home, understanding your borrowing power from a generalised assessment (how the bank assess it) and personal assessment (what you feel comfortable with) is really important. Many clients I see are blown away with how much they can borrow based on what the banks say, however it comes down to the level of comfort with the repayment (remembering that most home loans are over 30 years). Here's a quick video from the team at Insprired Money on Borr...owing Power. If you'd like a personalised assessment, be in contact on 0458 729 861. #perthmortgagebroker #valueofadevice #homeloanhelp #borrowingpower

08.01.2022 With the introduction of Comprehensive Credit Reporting, how you manage your current debt and whether you pay debts on time. When I prepare a clients loan application, one of the first things I do is obtain their Credit File. Knowing what their Report looks like at the start of the process can assist with making sure we lodge the application to the correct Bank if there are any Credit issues with late payments or a low Credit Score. If you're not sure what this would mean, ...here's a quick read on how to manage your report. We can also assist with preparing a report for you. 03.01.2022 HOW DOES A BROKER MAKE A DIFFERENCE? What a weekend. With WA being on a public holiday yesterday, Banking departments in the rest of Austrlia were still working. One my new clients who has purchased a home has been very anxious about their Finance Application. We went into the weekend not getting a response to their application.... I had a call from the Bank on Monday at 8am (public holiday) to say the loan was formally approved. I rang the client at 9am and sent through the formal approval notification after the conversation. Anxiety reduced and a VERY happy customer. Brokers go the extra mile for their customers to get them approved as quickly as they can, and keeping them up to date, even if it means working on long weekends. We really do care about our customers and being there for them. #perthmortgagebroker #homeloanhelp #makingadifference #customersatisfaction #1%

02.01.2022 WHICH HOME LOAN IS BEST FOR YOU? Over the next few days I'll showcase some of the different types of loans available. A Basic Home Loan is a variable rate loan with "No Frills". It's a great product if you're wanting to pay extra off the loan, and have the ability to redraw additional funds you've paid. It's usually a low rate and the fees are low too.... Some Lenders also have no application fees for these products. If you're wanting a simple home loan that will give you flexibility and a great rate, this could be the loan for you. #perthmortgagebroker #homeloanhelp #homeloan #whichloanisbestforyou

01.01.2022 Unfortunately when it comes to investing the evidence is overwhelming...most people act like humans, not investors. You see what we mean by that is that most p...eople tend to let their emotions and other human tendencies influence their decision-making and whilst this is perfectly reasonable in many parts of your life when it comes to investing, acting like a human may actually cost you money. To be a successful investor, it is important to be objective and disciplined when making investment decisions. This means making sure decisions align with your long-term goals. While you would be forgiven if ongoing trade wars, a global pandemic, and an uncertain economic outlook has prompted you to second-guess your investment strategy, making changes off the back of these events may be detrimental to your portfolio. At Inspired Money we believe helping you avoid behavioural mistakes is a significant contributor to total value proposition. In fact, sometimes it’s the decisions you choose not to make that count more.

01.01.2022 Fixed loan or Varaible loan? Maybe a split to have both. I get asked which is better by all my clients. It depends on your personal situation. Taking in to consideration if you have income fluctuations, savings at hand, tight budget. It's all about your goals, where you're at and where you're going too.... Whether it's buying a new home or looking to tidy up your existing home loan, be in contact and we'll work out what is the best option for you. #perthmortgagebroker #fixedorvariable #homeloanhelp
