19.01.2022 In 2021, Australia and the Philippines mark 75 years of formal diplomatic relations, but the military service and sacrifice of our Filipino-Australian veterans actually extends back to 1915. Filipino-Australians have perpetuated this tradition of service in the Australian military forces of note, three Filipino-Australians are known to have served in the Australian forces during the undeclared war known as Confrontation (1962-66).

18.01.2022 This is the fighting spirit of Sabahans! The 1943 Jesselton Uprising happened when a resistance movement known as the Kinabalu Guerrillas, comprising local Chi...nese, indigenous peoples, Eurasian and Sikh Indian of Jesselton, North Borneo and led by Albert Kwok, rebelled against the Japanese occupying forces of North Borneo. This book tells the spirit of #unity of the people of all races in Sabah, then known as North Borneo. The Kinabalu Guerrillas and their supporters came from all races they were farmers, fishermen, traders, clerks and ordinary men who wanted to save their community. That spirit of unity and courage is what gave Sabahans a strong sense of belonging to Sabah; locals should unite and fight for their destiny for a better tomorrow. Despite their failure in overthrowing the Japanese the Kinabalu Guerrillas provided a platform for inter-ethnic cooperation and the experience for many of the willingness to die for their country. Are you ready to sacrifice to protect and defend Sabah just like them? Note: not available in school history textbook #unity #ma63 #sabah

He was a regular at the Semaphore and Port Adelaide RSL and Dawn Service and the Gunfire Breakfast that follows. On behalf of the government I presented Paul Jr with a medallion to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
