06.01.2022 Chris Layland was a finalist in the Sports NSW Community Awards held at NSW Parliament House last night. Chris' nomination was a consequence of being named Football Far North Coast Community Coach of the Year and the Northern NSW Football Community Coach of the Year for 2020 as part of the Newcastle Permanent Community Recognition Awards. Further recognition for Chris was not to happen last night but we congratulate him on being selected as a finalist in an exceptional grou...p of sports volunteers. Thank you Chris for your contribution to community football. Newcastle Olympic FC's Jim Papas was also acknowledged at the ceremony with a Distinguished Long Service Award, which was awarded posthumously following Jim's passing earlier this year.
