15.01.2022 Tasmanian State Government has decided not to sink HMAS Darwin, the sister ship of HMAS Adelaide in Skeleton Bay in the Bay of Fires stating the the costs of $12 million + to sink and $600k pa ongoing costs outweighed potential benefits. An excellent result for the marine environment and local community who were strongly opposed to the plan. Hopefully this will be the end of sea dumping obsolete warships in Australia and the Cth Govt will now responsibility recycle this and future ships. https://www.perthnow.com.au//tasmania-rejects-federal-dive
