25.01.2022 Closing the gap between people and nature Experience: We went for an adventure to find some new branches and leaves to update our feathered friends homes. Our birds were very excited and the children were overjoyed to see the birds exploring their new toys! Why it was meaningful: In todays time, people are becoming more and more separate from nature and wildlife which can have devastating consequences as more animals become critically endangered or extinct without us truly ...understanding what we are losing. Our unique nature and animal based learning program supports children to develop a true sense of relationship, compassion and care for the plants and animals in our world. It is our goal, that through our educational program and real world experiences, we will be able to help close the gap between people and nature and work towards a more sustainable way of living and better caring for our extraordinary planet. Connections to Learning: Outcome 1.4 Children learn to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect Outcome 2.4 Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment

08.01.2022 Reading Together In many school environments, children are given silent time to read independently at their desks or on their beds and are shushed if they are talking to each other. Here at Noahs Ark, we have seen how reading can be a time where children have the freedom to be able to relax and learn by themslef, OR the freedom to read together. When children read together; there are many benefits including: ... - being able to share their excitements, their imagination and their ideas with each other - going on a journey together where they wonder and ask each other questions - Most of all, children are able to teach each other and to learn from each other which shows them that they are smart, capable and resourceful! You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity they will continue the learning process as long as they live. -Clay P. Bedford

04.01.2022 A group of children from Noahs Ark Family Day Care popped in for a visit to the Dakabin shelter recently. They were visiting organisations and volunteers who h...ad helped out during the bush fires to say thank you. They brought in some donations for the animals, some brownies for the volunteers, a painting of their hands and two cards they made thanking the volunteers and staff at RSPCA Dakabin. Acting shelter manager Natalie talked to the group about injured wildlife explaining it is initially checked by a Dakabin vet, treated with pain relief and stabilised. It is then sent by an Animal Ambulance to the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital in Brisbane for treatment, rehabilitation and hopefully release. Its great to see such young children interested in shelter animals and wildlife and how they have been affected by the devastating bushfires. Thank you to the children, staff and families from Noahs Ark Family Day Care.

04.01.2022 At Noahs Ark Family Day Care, the children have been deeply impacted by the Australian Bushfire Crisis. Upon discovering that they couldnt take a water bucket and fight the fires themselves, the children have been wondering how they can help. This week, we visited the QLD Rural Fire Service in Caboolture, and the Dakabin RSPCA to say thank you to the brave men and women who are fighting the fires and those keeping our wildlife safe.
