23.01.2022 last night in our after school Boyz Biz program our students participated in activities around Indigenous children's day. The students worked together to put up tents, played indigenous games and took home an indigenous plant. This program is being run by The Smith Family every Wednesday this term.

Yellaka is the fusion of ancient traditional and contemporary Aboriginal dance, song and storytelling, performed proudly and respectfully by its young Aboriginal members. Fire, water, earth and wind elements are elaborately interwoven with stories of creation spirits from across this sacred land. Yellaka draws audiences into a warm cultural space, evoking a mesmerising stillness. Cultural and spiritual renewal is at the heart of Yellaka's sacred circle, where ancient teachings cross into new forms. A Kaurna word meaning Old Wisdom New Ways, Yellaka is led by Karl Winda Telfer, Senior Kaurna Custodian from the Dry Forest Clan of the Adelaide Plains Region an award-winning cultural designer, storyteller, artist, dancer, teacher and accomplished choreographer. 20.01.2022 More renovations over the holidays and we have finally done away with the ugly blue and pink floors. The new vinyl looks amazing. The external painting is now finished and the roof on each building has been cleaned. It looks like a new school. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday (remember Monday is a public holiday). I have included some before and after shots for you. Regards, Rachael



18.01.2022 Just a reminder of the early dismissal time tomorrow (Friday 9 April) at 2:10pm. Thank you to all parents who have returned the required early dismissal consent form. If you have not yet returned it please do so tomorrow.

18.01.2022 Lots of improvements are currently happening around the school. Due to COVID we know you might not have been into the school to see the improvements so here are a few photos. We have a new pergola in the preschool and a new shade over the sandpit. The library has new book shelves and many of the classrooms have new cupboards. The special class have a new acoustic cubby couch which cuts down noise in the room. Every staff member wishes they could sit in the acoustic cubby.

17.01.2022 This week we are celebrating NAIDOC week. NAIDOC week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Ms Riedel organised a range of different activities around Aboriginal culture that classes participated in.

17.01.2022 Update re current COVID-19 outbreak I understand that there will be concern regarding the current outbreak of COVID-19. NDPS and preschool remain open for face to face learning and if there is any change to this we will notify you immediately.... The Education Department is currently preparing more information for us regarding end of year graduations etc and we will get this information to you as soon as we can. As i am sure you can appreciate this is a rapidly changing situation and therefore as we get more information decisions will be made and communicated to you in a timely manner. Children are not to attend school if they have any symptoms. If they develop symptoms whilst at school then parents/ carers will be rung and expected to collect them ASAP. Where possible parents/ carers are to drop children off at the gates however if you do come into the school grounds then you much be socially distance at all times. stay safe. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the school.

14.01.2022 Next term we will be running a Boyz Biz program for boys in year 5,6 or 7. There are limited spaces so get in quick.

13.01.2022 Fundraising Opportunities for our school. The Athlete’s Foot will donate $5 from every pair of shoes purchased from our local store which is located within the Colonnades shopping centre. All you have to do is nominate Noarlunga Downs Primary School at the time of purchase for the sale to be counted towards the Program Rewards.... School rewards applies for every pair of shoes purchased, across the complete in-store range of adults and/or kids sports, school, work and casual shoes.

06.01.2022 This week our school is beginning Reconciliation Week activities. Anglicare SA's family flyer this week has some great ways you can join in the celebration from home.

05.01.2022 The demolition of the old OSHC building started today. A bitter sweet time for Lyn who worked in that building for so many years. It gave our school lots of lovely memories however it had seen its day and it was time for it to go. We look forward to seeing the green space that will be created in the future and the children have loved watching (from a safe distance) the demolition.

03.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We have been alerted this afternoon to the fact that some families are having trouble with Skoolbag and may not have got the notices regarding acquaintance night and AGM. Below is the last message that was sent. We would love to see you at acquaintance night so please ring up and book a time. A creche will be available in the gym. We will follow up with Skoolbag regarding the issues. A reminder Acquaintance Night and AGM are on Tuesday 16 February 2021.... Bookings for acquaintance night are essential and can be made by calling the front office on 8384 4395. Times available are 5.00pm-5.20pm and 5.30pm-5.50pm. The AGM will be held at 6.00pm in the resource centre. Nominations for governing council are open. Please contact the front office to nominate.

03.01.2022 Our student's have been participating in activities for Reconciliation Week. Room 5 has turned into a Reconciliation Galley for all our student to come and visit to see each others work. It looks amazing.
