23.01.2022 The tenant kept losing power intermittently and couldnt figure out why. Three quick observations: - Poor connections - 50% of the terminal screws were still loose.... - Poor quality workmanship - There was exposed cabling out the top of most of the circuit breakers. - Poor choice of materials - Quality brands have additional insulation over terminals to help prevent this type of problem. At Noble Electrical + Data were happy to install customer supplied materials but please, for everyones benefit, dont just buy the cheapest thing you can find. Pictured below is a cover from a fan light that shattered while being installed today. Look at the thickness of the glass - this is held in place by tension on 3x metal tabs. Theres a reason it was the cheapest option. ... If you want cheap and youre buying from a lighting store you should be ok, but if its not, then get the second cheapest option. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. If youre not sure, call us on 0422 961 661 and we can walk you through your options - you may be able to get something much better quality for only a little more cost.

In this instance, the lighting leading down the stairs to the pool was a bit of an eye sore when it was held up by bricks and Tiles! Instead, Noble came up with the plan to run the lights through the fence poles and the end result speaks for itself!

06.01.2022 Unless you like your bacon super crispy, or your toaster is prone to burning toast, you probably dont think about your smoke detectors much. Or are you the one that disconnects the battery for a bit of peace and quiet? If so, go and connect it again. Now. It might just save your life. Maybe youve heard of the recent changes to the regulations, but are unsure of how it affects you? Let us shed a little light on the subject.... Here are three quick points straight up: 1) Smoke alarms have a 10 year lifespan. So if you havent replaced them since moving in back in 2006 theyll need replacing, no questions asked. If youre unsure, they will have either a manufacture date or a Replace By date printed on the underside of the alarm. 2) Does it work when you press the Test button? All smoke alarms will have a test button. If it doesnt start screaming when you press it, dont expect it to save your life when you need it. Get it replaced as a matter of priority. 3) If youre replacing a smoke alarm, it needs to be replaced with an AS3786-2014 compliant smoke alarm. Need a smoke alarm replaced? Call Noble Electrical + Data: 0422961661 That being said, the dates that legislation changes become effective are being rolled out in stages: Jan 1, 2017 onwards: All new homes must have photoelectric smoke alarms; at least 1 on every storey, with 1 in every bedroom and 1 in hallways connecting bedrooms to the main areas of the house. All of these must be interconnected so that when one of them detects smoke, all of them will alert the occupants of the house. Ok, so youre not building your dream home. What does that mean for you? Jan 1, 2022 onwards: Changes will apply to all rental properties, or those being sold. Jan 1, 2027 onwards: Smoke alarm legislation will apply to all domestic dwellings. For those of you who live in places (like apartments) with little space to run cables, have no fear! There are smoke alarms with 10yr lithium ion batteries and wireless interconnects.
