24.01.2022 Meditation is a profound act of love - for ourselves and others. I wonder if Charlie Chaplin was a meditator? "As I Began to Love Myself" - Poem by Charlie Chaplin As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is AUTHENTICITY.... As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody as I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call it RESPECT. As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call it MATURITY. As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call it SELF-CONFIDENCE. As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call it SIMPLICITY. As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is LOVE OF ONESELF. As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is MODESTY. As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it FULFILLMENT. As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection WISDOM OF THE HEART. We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born.Today I know THAT IS LIFE!

14.01.2022 Be tender when there is an ache inside of you. As tender as the soft wind that caresses you at dawn. ... Your false notions of 'strength' will dissolve under your magnificent ability to allow. They have no place here, among the sacred cellar of the heart's labor. Your rawness is what is real. Let it be what it is. Everything is ok. You do not have to be anywhere or anyone you are not. You do not have to have it all figured out. You do not have to pull it together. You do not have to be enlightened. What you truly feel is what you must place on the altar. Tenderly allow, my beloved one. And slowly, the holy steam will rise to moisten and heal your courageous and noble heart. -deborah anne quibell (photo by Luís Perdigão)

07.01.2022 "In the mahayana tradition we experience a sense of gentleness toward ourselves, and a sense of friendliness towards others begins to arise. That friendliness or compassion is known in Tibetan as nyingje, which literally means noble heart." Chogyam Trungpa, 1993, Training the Mind & Cultivating Loving-Kindness, p1 ... At Noble Heart Therapy we seek to work with deep compassion for everyone we meet. We want to inspire an attitude of gentleness and courage in facing our human difficulties. When we approach our challenges with open-hearted, non-judgmental kindness, something almost magical happens. We can afford to feel our pain. This isn't easy. But with the right support, we can heal. We can also connect with something deeper. Some call this our inherent wisdom - a spacious, powerful awareness that is our inner compass, our guide for life. We can learn to rely on this guidance to promote the growth, healing and wellbeing of ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities: we can flourish. We specialise in counselling & psychotherapy, education & training and holistic care to support you with your challenges, and opening the door to your noble heart. We would be honoured to work with you. Natalie & Brendon

04.01.2022 'Noble Heart Therapy' - inspired by the Tibetan word 'nyingje', meaning compassion. The Dalai Lama explains: "When I speak of 'basic human feeling', I refer to the capacity we all have to empathise with one another. This is what enables us to enter into the pain of others, and to some extent, participate in the pain of others. Our innate capacity for empathy is the source of that most precious of all human qualities, which in Tibetan we call nyingje. While generally translat...ed simply as 'compassion', the term nyingje has a wealth of meaning that includes: love, affection, kindness, gentleness, generosity of spirit and warm-heartedness. It does not imply pity; on the contrary, nyingje denotes a feeling of connection with and respect for others. Also, it belongs to that category of emotions which have a more developed cognitive component. So we can understand nyingje, or 'compassion' as a combination of empathy and reason. We can think of empathy as the characteristic of a very warm-hearted or well-meaning person; reason as that of someone who is very practical and truly intelligent and wise. When the two are put together, the combination is highly effective." HH Dalai Lama, Ethics for a New Millennium, (p66, 76-77)
