17.01.2022 CFA (Country Fire Authority) has received a number of calls from community members regarding bonfires to mark the ‘Spark in the Dark’ event this evening. We appreciate those who are thanking our frontline workers, but urge you to keep fire safety front of mind. As today’s conditions are windy in some areas we are urging those who wish to participate to not do so by lighting bonfires or using fire pits.... If you are choosing to light a candle, please ensure it is monitored by an adult and extinguished properly. You might like to mark the event by using a torch or outside light. Thank you and stay safe. #sparkinthedark #StaySafe #cfavic

14.01.2022 Over the coming weeks and leading into Summer, Noble Park brigade members will be commencing our important pre-summer skills drills. As an emergency services provider we have been granted permission to commence this mandatory training which will be conducted under strict Covid compliant guidelines. These restrictions include having a COVID safe coordinator at each session, everything is cleaned and sanitized before and after each session and correct PPE/PPC is worn at all t...imes. There will be a maximum of 5 people (including the coordinator) at each session. So if you happen to see us over the next coming weeks give us a socially distant wave and say hello. Thank you and Stay safe everyone.

13.01.2022 There are some absolute scorchers coming up over the next few days, so please take a look at this message from Justin, our State Health Commander.

11.01.2022 We can't get a truck to every house in a bushfire, so we need your help to ensure your safety Be prepared, monitor conditions and leave early. Emergency services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.

11.01.2022 It's especially important in times like this where we are separated from those we care about to stop and ask "R U OK". Give someone a call, or have a zoom coffee. Just remember, there's more to say after "R U OK". Learn what to say at ruok.org.au... Let's look after each other and get through this together.

09.01.2022 Here we go again folks. The Bureau of Meteorology have just released a severe weather alert for tomorrow, (Wednesday September 2nd 2020) for another series of f...ronts to pass over Victoria in the coming days. DAMAGING NORTH TO NORTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 50 to 60 km/h, with peak gusts of 90-100 km/h, are forecast to extend across the warning area during Wednesday morning. DAMAGING WINDS will contract east during the day, easing below warning threshold in the west by early afternoon, central districts by late afternoon, but persisting across elevated areas in the east into Wednesday evening. Locations which may be affected include Warrnambool, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Wonthaggi and Bacchus Marsh. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Be aware that trees that have been damaged by heat or fire may be unstable and more likely to fall when it is windy or wet. * Check that loose items such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured and move vehicles under cover or away from trees. * Stay indoors and away from windows. * If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways. * If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Stay away from fallen powerlines always assume they are live. * Stay informed monitor weather warnings, forecasts and river levels at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency.

07.01.2022 With students going back to school this week take care in and around schools zones and stick to the 40kph speed limit. Children are our most vulnerable road users Motorists should be aware that children in traffic are not like adults. They can be unpredictable and because they are small, they can be hard to see. So take extra care and slow down when you drive past any school.

More than 78 communities across Victoria we...re directly affected. On 7 February, Black Saturday, Victorian townships including Marysville, Kinglake, Kinglake West, Narbethong, Flowerdale and Strathewen were devastated. 06.01.2022 Today I joined Vic Emergency, Fire Rescue Victoria and Forest Fire Management Victoria for the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC (Cooperative Research Centre) bu...shfire seasonal outlook. While we are potentially looking at fewer prolonged fires this season, this doesn’t mean our communities can be complacent. Start preparing your properties and planning for fire season when it hits. 05.01.2022 Tonight when you are eating with your family, children or significant other, just stop what you are doing and think... On this day 19 years ago, 246 people woke from sleep in preparation for their morning flights while 2,606 people woke up in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went woke up in preparation for their morning shift, 60 police officers woke up in preparation for morning patrol and 8 paramedics woke up in preparation for the morning shift of sa...ving lives. Not one of these men and women saw past 10:00am on Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment, your life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight, before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle them a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. Never forget

04.01.2022 Always monitor your location conditions and follow official warnings and advice using the VicEmergency app, the VicEmergency hotline (1800 226 226) and your local ABC Emergency broadcaster. Never rely on one source of information.
