25.01.2022 Chain hoists are a common piece of lifting equipment due to their ability to reduce the puling effort and amount of strain an operator will encounter when lifting a load. They are extremely versatile, come in a variety of models and can be used in almost every industry even subsea environments. Whilst chain hoists are known for their durability, reliability and versatility, they still require proper care, use and maintenance to ensure they dont encounter damage. To read about some common misuses of chain hoists and why you should avoid doing such things - http://bit.ly/2V6rAzT #hoisting #lifting #chainhoists

22.01.2022 When it comes to lifting and lashing the most common equipment chosen has always been steel chains and slings. Whilst steel chains are strong and can get the job done, they are also heavy and rough which can lead to injury or damage to delicate surfaces. Van Beest has evolved the chain and released the Green Pin Tycan fibre chain which are transforming the way companies lift and lash. 20.01.2022 Choosing the right lifting equipment is crucial to ensure safety when conducting a lift, and with the wide range of options available in the market, it can sometimes be challenging to know if you are using the best sling for your lift. Wire rope, chain, synthetic and webbing slings each have their benefits, but not all benefits are applicable to all lifts or environments. To help you choose the right sling, we have devised a list of factors to consider before making your selection from considering the load and frequency of use to the method of slinging and the operating environment. To find out more, click through the article - http://bit.ly/2v1K35S #howtochoose #liftingslings #liftingequipment

09.01.2022 Lifting lugs come in all shapes and sizes. Even the term ‘lifting lug’ itself comes with multiple definitions and no single standard (let alone a truly prescriptive one) is directly applicable to all. This presents a challenge for inspection. Nevertheless, there are important principles to apply and choosing the right inspection regime helps to reduce the risks that lifting lugs might pose. For more information on lifting lugs, how to make them compliant with Australian Standards as well as periodic and pre-use inspections http://bit.ly/2VnkeWI #liftinglugs #reducerisks #compliance

07.01.2022 Wire rope grips are such a familiar and commonplace thing, and yet they are not always well understood. It’s worth taking a trip into the world of this ‘not for lifting’ wire rope hardware, because that term alone won’t protect us from a rope breaking loose under load. The wire rope grips we use are in essence based upon a concept with fundamental flaws. Using them properly is all about managing those shortcomings. 05.01.2022 Nobles engineering have been designing custom lifting equipment for decades and recently designed this multi-use lifting beam. This beam is suitable when the client has limited room to store multiple beams. It has adjustable bollards (for sling attachment) allowing for different effective lengths and also has an additional feature which can adjust the centre of gravity during a lift. This feature allowed placement of the rotor (shown below) horizontally on the first go, hence not damaging expensive bearings and reduced the time the riggers needed to complete the job. The beam was also used to lift other rotors and outer housings. For more information on Nobles custom engineering capabilities, head to - https://bit.ly/customeng

01.01.2022 Nobles engineering can custom design a range of lifting equipment to suit your needs. Our team recently designed an 8 tonne jack stand used for large agricultural sprayers. It can be used when the vehicle gets a flat tyre (in the field) or during service work in workshops. This lifting device has dual functions, it can either be used to lift the vehicle as a jack or it can be used as a stand (it can be fixed in height with a large pin). The unit itself is attached to the vehicles suspension and the jack operation is via hydraulics with a remote pump to allow the operator to not be under the vehicle during the lifting process.
