12.01.2022 Sharing this excellent post from a myofunctional therapist friend, Sarah Hornsby. "This picture from Patrick McKeown is such a great visual! If you mouth breat...he you are more likely to have facial features like the guy on the bottom of the picture. If you nose breathe you are more likely to look like the guy on the top. Personally, I like to focus more on the health aspects of nasal breathing vs mouth breathing rather than the cosmetic/aesthetic aspects, but we are all motivated by our appearance to some degree. It’s important to realize that form and function go hand-in-hand. Meaning, if you breathe well you will look good AND you’ll be healthier. Of course, this is a generalization. There will be some people who are lucky - they mouth breathe but look like the guy on the top. It is certainly possible, just less likely! Good family traits/genes play a role too.
