Building a solid load tolerance is ths only way we reduce our injury risk, but there is a particular way to do it.... . Poor technique intolerable tissues loads = injury risk. -This is because poor movement patterns place excessively higher stress on tissues. . Good tech intolerable tissues loads = injury risk. -Although tolerance is low, optimal movement mechanics reduces the amount of unecessary stress on tissues, allowing for optimal loading and adaptation. . Good tech loads training consistency = load tolerance. -Load tolerance occurs over a consecutive period of time through consistent training. . Take home message: The body adapts to load and the way to do that is by loading it correctly over time. If you lift with poor technique and cant tolerate it, this is where injuries may occur. Lift correctly and reduce injury risk. . The lower trapzius has 2 main functions: -Scapula depression -Scapula upward rotation which occurs at 50-60 degrees of GH abduction and flexion. . Many people tend to neglect the importance of lower trap strength. Pretty much every should exercise you do requires rotation on the shoulder blade. . So in saying that, having a strong lower trap (as well as serratus ant, upper trap and rotator cuffs) will potentially improve performance and reduce the risk of injury within the shoulder complex. . A butt wink is described as posterior rotation of the pelvis at the bottom of the squat which increases the amount of lumbar flexion - so essentially when your hips curl under at the bottom of the squat.... . This has been theorised to be associated with lower back injuries, particularly a lumbar disc bulge. .
