23.01.2022 People who know me know that I hate the BMI this article explains exactly why it is so wrong to base your health from this number or any numbers to do with your weight.

23.01.2022 This is the only list of 5 foods you shouldn't eat that you need ever. Ignore all the other rubbish ones.

11.01.2022 Weighing kids in school is not useful and extremely harmful. There is plenty of evidence to support this so it should not even have been proposed.

11.01.2022 'We showed that subjects in the top quartile (those with the lowest intake of carbohydrate) had the highest risk of total mortality, the researchers said. Add...itionally, they found a significant link between low carbohydrate/high protein diets and cancer mortality. The research team notes that further studies will clarify the mechanisms behind these associations.' This is correlation, not causation... but worth noting - and more research is needed. It's not a panacea.

11.01.2022 It is an easy spiral from any diet to disordered eating. Health can happen at any size.

11.01.2022 I love this post. Family can be so critical, your body is not meant to stay the same shape your whole life.

09.01.2022 #Repost @nicolecruzrd with @get_repost Frozen blended bananas can be yummy, if you're in the mood for it. My kids wanted to try "Banana Swirl" after se...eing it on Daniel Tiger. They liked it enough, but didn't love it. I too, think it tastes ok. But if I want ice cream, I definitely don't want frozen bananas. I want ice cream. So often we're told that when we want something sweet, eat a piece of fruit, yogurt, or chew gum. Or try roasted kale or seaweed crisps when you want potato chips. Spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles instead of pasta. Riced cauliflower instead of rice. Or if hungry, try drinking water. However, if you want something, there may be a reason your body is craving it. You may need more carbs for energy or an actual snack, not just water. And if you're really craving something, no amount of another food is truly going to do the trick for the long haul. It will only make you feel more deprived and will likely leave you searching for more food, often with an out of control, compulsive feeling. Barring food allergies, if you're craving a specific food, the best thing you can do is eat it! And if you do have a food allergy or intolerance, there are generally many products on the market now that can be similar substitutes without being a "light" or diet form #edrecovery #eatingdisorderdietitian #eatingdisorderrd #dietculturedropout #ditchthediet #antidiet #haesrd #haes #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingrd #intuitiveeatingofficial #allfoodsfit #rdsofinstagram #eatwhatyouwant #dietitiansofinstagram #diet #foodfreedom #findfoodfreedom #health #healthy #emotionaleating #bodyacceptance #nondiet #mindfuleating #selfcompassion #selflove #selfcare #bodyimage See more

08.01.2022 Let's debunk these weight-based stigmas once and for all. #WSAW2019 #ComeAsYouAre @lindsaybraman on IG

07.01.2022 This is scary. I work in a lot of age care facilities where I spend a large amount of time trying to help people meet their requirements. As you age your appetite decreases due to aging, medication, medical conditions etc. I fear for people who have had bariatric surgery as they age.

02.01.2022 If you have watched this show and want a good analysis of the science that was used, read this article.

01.01.2022 This is so important. This will change the way your children see their bodies and help you start to see the positives in your own body. Stop the good food bad food dialogue, stop comparing yourself to others or criticising yourself and others about body shape and size. And stop weighing yourself!!!
