05.01.2022 NBN Quick Update in Fire affected Areas. * If you have Fixed Wifi in the Glenthorne area, you are most likely affected. (using Failford Tower) * Internet Services might be disrupted as a result of ongoing repairs/upgrades. Below is a Email from NBN emergency Management.... Event Name: NSW/QLD Bushfires Event Summary: Multiple serious bushfires are burning across NSW and Queensland. Latest Hazard Information for nbn: There are currently 136 bushfires across NSW & QLD with 8 in NSW & 6 in QLD at Watch & Act level. Current Network Restoration Activities for nbn: nbn continues to prepare as if all equipment and assets will require replacement as a precaution, with temporary network infrastructure being readied. nbn intends to send field technicians where it's safe to do so. A decision as to whether to deploy the temporary network infrastructure will be made later today after site inspections by Field Services in QLD & NSW. Critical Issues for nbn: Whilst there are currently 37 "Amber Zones", Field Services are aware that this may change depending on the weather. Note severe fire weather is forecast for the weekend and next week. nbn Network Impact: Total Number of Services Impacted: There are a total of 4150 services currently impacted. Total Number of Assets Impacted: There are a total of 59 sites currently impacted. Total Number of Services at Risk: There are a total of 1403 services at risk. 05.01.2022 You just don't when it will happen???? What if you had something destroy your business location. What Disaster plans do you have in place? Luck for us. The location was useable but it made me think. Could we move to another location the next day and keep the business running? What Services are cloud based, what would require relocation and what could we do with out?... In Short, a couple of weeks ago a Motorbike ran up the back of a Ute and then shot across the Footpath and through our front door. Lucky no one injured, the rider was taken to hospital, the shop cleaned up and back to business. (still no working front door).
