I only get one chance with each piece, and if something goes wrong, then thats it! Its gone! Hopefully, in the coming week Ill be able to release some new work, all being well.

22.01.2022 Below is a blown glass piece regarding the now extinct Cuban Macaw with an illustration and description written by John Gerrard Keulemans. On exhibition now at Zakay Glass Creations, in Bangalow, NSW Australia. "The Cuban Macaw is an extinct parrot that was endemic to Cuba and possibly Isla de la Juventud. As recently as 1800, the species was common on the island, but faced a swift decline at the hand of man. This striking bird was a typical macaw in size and shape, and wa...s mostly red, with a yellow nape and blue rump, tail tip, and wings. Threats that led to the extinction of the species included deforestation, hunting, and the capture of young macaws by humans to be kept as pets. The last confirmed Cuban Macaw on Earth was shot near Zapata Swamp in 1864." . See more

17.01.2022 Hi There Everyone. This page has been respectfully silent whilst the world struggles with the current situation. I just want to let you know that we are still here, and self isolating like most others. Future posts are coming. Creating artwork will never stop for me and I have some new work on the go. Most of the galleries who represent me and show my work are still operating on-line, but if you are unsure, or have questions you are welcome to contact me directly.... Keep safe and well, and our very best wishes to you all. Noel xx See more

16.01.2022 The Fate of the Red Tailed Black Cockatoos. Over the last couple of weeks large areas of the East Coast of Australia have been on fire. As we live in the bush weve had many friends contacting us to see if were OK. We are fine, thank you. However, the home of a dear friend a few hundred kilometers south of us was totally destroyed. Amongst remaining detritus our friend found a remnant of a blown glass piece I created in 2005 titled Red Tailed Black Cockatoo. Both that piece and the remnant are pictured. As the fire was burning, a recent painting of mine also pertaining to the Red Tailed Black Cockatoo went on show at an open exhibition - Friends and Family at Daine Singer in Melbourne. http://www.dainesinger.com/current#/friends-and-family
16.01.2022 May all living things have an excellent future with biodiversity flourishing, and wishing all our friends an absolutely awesome 2020.

14.01.2022 After the recent bush fires which also impacted the area where I live, I am pleased to be able to donate this glass sculpture for auction tomorrow evening where 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this piece will be given to this fundraiser. Our wildlife needs all the help it can get. Any interested parties are welcome to participate. Even better Northern Rivers Community Foundation (NCRF) have just announced that they will match dollar for dollar for all funds raised.
13.01.2022 With Australia suffering massive bush fires since around last August, and still continuing today, many species are facing a serious decline in population numbers, with some likely to have gone extinct. The narrative within the abstraction of my work considers the fragility of biodiversity, using birds, in particular parrot species, as a symbol in an ever changing landscape. The pieces pictured here are available from Bender Fine Art Gallery, located in Asheville, North Carolina USA. https://www.bendergallery.com/
12.01.2022 Zion Levy Stewarts portrait of me as entered in the Archibald Prize 2020. Good luck Zion!!!

10.01.2022 I will be showing paintings along with the glass sculpture at The Other Art Fair which opens next Thursday night and will continue over the weekend of the 25th, in Sydney at the Cutaway at Barangaroo. Well be at Booth # 101 and would love to see you if you can make it. These paintings are a symbolic representation of the tail feathers of the female Red Tailed Black Cockatoo, a species which has become locally extinct where I live. I last witnessed a pair of these magnificent parrots nearby in the early 1990s. They are painted on jute from re-cycled coffee bags, bonded to painters cotton drop cloth.
10.01.2022 My new glass pieces are finally finished, and the paintings nearly done. Well be showing my latest artwork at The Other Art Fair, presented by Saatchi Art at The Cutaway at Barangaroo, Sydney, the weekend October 25-27 with opening night Thursday, October 24. Wed love to see you if you can make it. Enquiries welcome.

07.01.2022 first pic: With my team (Jonathan Westacott, Greg Royer, Lucas Salton and Bohdi Royer) in the hot glass studio on the Sunshine Coast Qld, Australia, creating the Fauvist Perroquet. 2nd pic: The Fauvist Perroquet (click images individually for full size) When glass is hot (very hot) the colours look nothing like how they will finish up, although I have a pretty good idea despite the multiple transparent overlays. It is satisfying to finally have the finished sculpture. (click image individually for full size).
