25.01.2022 With the Australia to New Zealand travel-bubble opening up I thought it was time to revisit some classic NZ locations, along with some of the more obscure ones. Here Jono takes a last look back over the Fox Glacier after a day of ice climbing. This glacier has retreated a staggering amount in my life time. I first visited in my 20's, in 2002 when the glacier bulging full, high up the valley walls and touching the rain forest. You could step directly from the rainforest ont...o hard ice. Here, in 2008 there is some retreat up the valley, but nothing compared to its current position. 21.01.2022 I'd not noticed these Osprey nests (stacks) last time we visited Rottnest Island. They are huge! This nesting mum is in the final stages of raising her two chicks. Dad had already left the nest about a week earlier. Ospreys build their stacks on off-sure rocks, surrounded by water.
