We still dont have fracking gasfields, but are concerned about the seismic testing going on and Macallum Group is very keen on the tight gas in the area, which would need to be fracked ! Back off Macallum, you have no social licence here!

17.01.2022 Exploration activities (in this case seismic thumper trucks) for gas along Gt Northern Hwy, through Chittering. We declared Chittering Gasfield Free. Let's send them a reminder.

17.01.2022 The petroleum exploration permit over our area still exists. Macallum group are now actively, visibly exploring(seismic thumper trucks), because the McGowan Government has given the green light to fracking everywhere north of the City of Swan boundary. Soon they will be allowed to drill an exploration well, and frack it. That could then lead to invasive fracking gasfields. The Chittering Shire opposing this doesn't stop it (it does help with lobbying the McGowan Gov, and the...y could do more though). Everywhere this industry has gotten a foothold across the world, it spreads out (so it can definitely spread from the existing permit area). The time to fight back seriously is now. It's still possible to stop it now, other regions in Australia have shown this (bans in Victoria, South West, Swan, North east NSW, around Sydney, SE South Australia). But we need to work together to be the most strategic. If we called a meeting at Lower Chittering Hall, would you come if you could? 07.01.2022 Its not good news. Mark McGowan has given the go ahead to open up over five million hectares of WA for fracking. We are disgusted that the State Government has acted against the voice of the people, their own representatives and most importantly they have made decisions based on wealth, not health. We want a total, permanent ban on fracking in WA. Victoria are ready to enshrine a ban into their constitution and so should WA. ... We must demand a permanent ban to protect Country, agriculture, tourism and the future of our environment. 06.01.2022 BREAKING: The WA Government quietly released its Implementation Plan for fracking in WA late on Friday. The plan is a series of dot points. The new regulations have not even been written but fracking companies can now submit applications for fracking to the EPA. The plan also confirms fears that fracking may be allowed over a much bigger area than the 5 million hectares (or 2 per cent of WA) claimed by the state government when it green lighted fracking last year. 06.01.2022 Important news for farmers n landholders in our area, whether already stuck with a land access agreement they were bullied into, or on the fence about the risks and dangers of this industry. Please share widely. It's not just about coal seam gas, it's about any unconventional gas activities and infrastructure, so would apply to us.
