10.01.2022 So I picked these up today! For those who don’t know, they’re yarn bowls to sit your wool in. I’ve been after one for years, but the best thing about these is that not only are they locally made by my mate Antony at @acespearguns but they’re made from local timber sourced from the George Brown Botanic Gardens after a rain tree came down in Cyclone Marcus. #buylocalart #botanicgardensmyhappyplace #nht #crochetismytherapy one is for a friend, one for me. 09.01.2022 Another perfect pockets shawl ready to go to its new forever home. This time multi-coloured. Future multi-coloured shawls price will be differently priced to the plain coloured shawls that you’ve seen till now. This is based purely on the cost of the yarn. The yarn used in this shawl is what is referred to as a yarn cake which comes in many, many colours, brands and ply thicknesses, but with all of these colours in the one ‘cake’ or ball of yarn. There is traditionally less yarn in these cakes than the one I use for the others. The transition from one colour to another is random and not clear cut, so the colour change can occur mid row or at the end of row which is pure fluke.
