24.01.2022 Anzac Day 2021 Dawn Service On the 25th of April 2021, join us as we pause to commemorate those who have given their lives in service to our great country from the Boer War through to contemporary conflicts such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Arrive at the Sub-Branch at 5:45am for the Dawn Service which will commence at 6pm. Afterwards, there will be a full gunfire breakfast available for $5 (treats being served include bacon, eggs, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, baked beans etc....), in addition to other refreshments and great company. From 12pm onward, lunch will be available which will include chicken casserole, Italian meatballs, roast beef & gravy and fried rice (also for the great price of $5!). The two-up will start at 1pm and we'll have entertainment in the form of live bands from 2pm till 8pm, so don't think the day will be done after the Dawn Service and gunfire breakfast! We welcome everyone to commemorate this day, and we'd like to especially invite the veterans of more recent service to come down and join us. We are also very welcoming to members of the wider community. See you bright and early on the 25th!

24.01.2022 Clear out some of your house stuff, or add some more! Great event, great people and looks like great weather in the near future! And your support of the event will contribute, as the proceeds go to assisting our Sub-Branch :)

23.01.2022 Team Nollamara, We need 2 more sensational, awesome and generous service members to donate their time and visit 2 schools each on the 23rd of April 2021, one in morning and one in the afternoon. These schools are local and it is really important to the Nollamara RSL and the schools that we continue to spread the Anzac Spirit through the visits that we conduct every year.... If you would like to volunteer for this opportunity it would be greatly appreciated - please contact us through Facebook or sending an email to [email protected] - your help would be fantastic! To those who have already put their hands up, thank you!

22.01.2022 General Meeting starting at 1pm today, so come on down and be a part of our GREAT CLUB.

21.01.2022 Team Nollamara, It is with regret we inform you that in line with the briefing from the State Premier Mark McGowan and the Media Release from RSLWA, the Nollamara RSL Sub-Branch 2021 Anzac Day commemoration activities are cancelled with immediate effect. This is sad news, but we went through a similar thing last year and know that we can pull through, even though it is painful for us all. So, why not pick up the phone and give your mates a call on Sunday?... Above all, stay safe and follow the government guidelines to get through this we will see you on the other side of it.

20.01.2022 'Two ears for listening' is the title of this excellent article on the RSLWA website, and it is especially applicable with today being R U OK? Day. It is exactly what the RSL is about, and we are very proud here at the Nollamara Sub-Branch of the community we have built, and how strongly we live up to the value of mateship within a service context. We have veterans young and old here, with service in Vietnam, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Solomon Islands, on Border Protection... and in the recent Bushfire Assist mission undertaken by the ADF. The important part is that we are here for each other. In these difficult times under the shadow of a pandaemic, reach out to your mates you haven't spoken to in a while, and ask them 'R U OK?'. It may make all the difference in someone's life. As always we encourage veterans, especially those from contemporary operations and service types, to come down and become part of our community - we are here as an organisation to support you, and you can find a home in us. See you soon!

19.01.2022 Keep this in mind if you are near the city, and of course don't forget your friendly Nollamara Sub-Branch!!!! Especially if you are a younger veteran - the RSL is a home for you.

19.01.2022 Friday's $5 feast is........ Porterhouse steak with creamy garlic sauce, whole jacket potato and a cob of corn! What a treat! Don't forget you can eat in if you'd like, and make sure you to let us know to reserve you a meal!

19.01.2022 It was another great Thursday night last night - look at the crowd! If you haven't got anything planned for this evening, why not pop around for a drink with good company? If you're at a loss what to do tomorrow afternoon, remember we have our pool competition on every Saturday. As always, we appeal to younger veterans to come down and become part of our community - it doesn't matter whether you were Army, Navy or Airforce, full-time or reservist, we welcome all who served in uniform. See you down at the Sub-Branch!

18.01.2022 After looking at this picture, you may be asking what Friday's meal choice is????? Well, we are excited to present you with a combination of meals - satay chicken, sweet and sour fish and fired rice packaged together in one convenient takeaway container or plate!!!! And as usual, all for the great price of $5. If you are allergic or have a strong aversion to either choice, let us know and we will be able to accommodate you. As always you are welcome to eat in, so let us know... if you would like to. And make sure you contact us to reserve a meal! Tomorrow is going to be hot and it's the end of the week, so why not head down to the Sub-Branch to enjoy a cool drink and a delicious meal - we'll see you here!

14.01.2022 Ladies and gents, This Friday at 5pm, Councillor Keith Sargent (our new patron) will be attending the club for a meet and greet with our members (you!). It will be a good chance to get to know him and discuss your thoughts on the direction of the club with him. If you are free, pop on down and have a say in the future of the club . Plus, what better way to start the weekend than a drink with mates in the friendly atmosphere we have here at the Nollamara Sub-Branch?!?!?!?

11.01.2022 Good evening members and friends of the Sub-Branch! On 27 March 2021 we will be holding a General Meeting commencing at 1pm. We will be covering off on important items of business relating to our Sub-Branch, so if you are keen to stay informed as to the goings-on, then come on down! It also gives you an opportunity to get involved in deciding the direction of the club. If you have any Agenda Items you'd like to see included, please email them to [email protected]... by the close of business 19 March 2021. We are currently riding a wave of positive momentum, so let's keep it up by getting involved in the running of our Sub-Branch - we'll see you on the 27th!

10.01.2022 Although the restrictions finish midnight Saturday, The Anglo Indian Association and the Nollamara RSL have decided not to open this Sunday for the Sunday dance. As most of our members, family and friends are in the higher risk category, we believe waiting one extra week to have the dance is in the best interest for everyone. We have chosen to look after the welfare of our patrons before making profits and we always will. We look forward to the club re opening next week as per pre lock down times and rules and dancing the night away on Sunday 21st February 2021. Stay safe everyone.

10.01.2022 2021 Nollamara Sub-Branch March At 1030 on the 18th of April (this coming Sunday), we will be holding our annual pre-Anzac Day Sub-Branch March. All are invited to attend, especially past and present service members - whether Navy, Army or Airforce, Regular or Reservist - you're a veteran and we would love to have you along! We extend a special invitation to younger veterans.... The march will be conclude with a service at the Sub-Branch, followed by refreshments inside. Beef and gravy rolls will be available for purchase as well. We'll have support from other various community organisations such as a Pipes ad Drums band, Cadets and Scouts, so come on down - if marching isn't your thing you are very welcome to watch! See you Sunday!

09.01.2022 We are happy to let you know that we will be opening today from 2pm onward, and we'd love to have you join us! Please make sure that you continue to observe the government's requirement to wear a mask to and from the venue and when not drinking or eating, sanitise your hands on entry and exit of the venue and make sure you use our sign in register. We will not be open tomorrow and are still determining our opening hours once restrictions ease - stay tuned for more information. See you this arvo!

09.01.2022 For your information if you are intending on traveling to and from our Sub-Branch on Anzac Day! We think it's great being able to share a drink with your friends on the day, but we also encourage responsible behaviour, so jump on board with this initiative! We'll see you on 25APR21 to commemorate Anzac Day.

08.01.2022 SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING Nollamara RSL Club Incorporated There will be a special general meeting of the Nollamara RSL Club Incorporated on Saturday 10th April 2021 commencing at 1:00pm.... This will be a single motion meeting for the membership to vote on the RSLWA resolution to dissolve all incorporated entities from RSL Sub-Branch premises. This meeting will be attended by Mr. John McCourt, CEO of RSLWA. Any questions from members for Mr. McCourt can be given to the Secretary, Club Manager or Bar Staff prior to completion of business Tuesday 6th April 2021.

07.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget. Below is a picture of Trooper Harry Thomas Ledger, who served at Gallipoli with the 7th Light Horse Regiment. He is also the great-grandfather of one of our younger Sub-Branch members. ... If you are a veteran, but especially if you are a younger veteran, please come down to the Sub-Branch and become part of our community here - that is what we are for, to provide support and comradeship to all service personnel, regardless of branch, time served, full time or reservist, deployed or not. All are welcome who have served our country!

06.01.2022 On the 31st of October 1917, the Charge at Beersheba took place. The 4th and 12th Light Horse Regiments successfully charged the Turkish trenches, securing the vital water wells and capturing Beersheba. It is considered one of the last great cavalry charges in the modern era. Yesterday, the 10th Light Horse Regiment conducted a parade at King's Park to commemorate the fallen soldiers from the unit, and remember the Charge at Beersheba. We are lucky to have a number of soldie...rs from the 10th Light Horse (both past and present) as Sub-Branch members. Here were two of them yesterday - though they served decades apart, their friendship arose as a result of meeting at the RSL and now they are good mates! This camaraderie is exactly what we seek to promote for current and ex-service personnel, especially if you are a younger veteran. So get on down to the Sub-Branch and make some new friends!

05.01.2022 If you’re wanting potted Gallipoli Rosemary and hand-made poppies for your ANZAC Day commemorations - like Gurkha veteran Gurung Kiran was yesterday - please po...p down to Poppy Lane Coffee and Flowers at ANZAC House Veteran Central to grab yours. You'll be supporting our RSLWA Poppy Ladies and part proceeds go to veteran welfare. Lest we forget! #rslwamateship #PuttingVeteransFIrst See more

03.01.2022 Team - it's that time of year again where we will be holding our Annual General Meeting at 1200 this Sunday (27SEP20), where we can all get an update on the current direction of the Sub-Branch and find out how well we are standing. More importantly, a vote will be held to elect the new committee, which will rely on as many service members attending as possible. Both social and service members are invited to the meeting in order to gain situational awareness of the current st...ate of the Sub-Branch, however only service members will be able to vote on the committee positions. This does not limit social members from participating in the other areas the meeting will cover, so get on down and have your say on our future! Look forwards to seeing everyone there, and if any of your mates are members but don't have Facebook, make sure you pass this information on to them! See you Sunday.

01.01.2022 To back up our previous post about being a home for veterans, and living up to the idea of mateship, here's a photo of some of our patrons young and old tonight, representing both veterans (Australian and from across the ditch!) and members of the wider community! Get on down to the Sub-Branch and make some new friends now!
