22.01.2022 The design we did for selkiemoon.com has won a Silver Davey Award. From the Davey Awards fact sheet: "The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small agencies worldwide. The 2016 Davey Awards received nearly 4,000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms and public relations firms."... A nice way to finish the year! Special mention goes to Marty Walker who built the site, and of course, the client Virginia King!

10.01.2022 A tip of the hat to Ian Kiernan AO, who passed away this week. I used to do a bit of stuff for Clean Up Australia and Clean Up the World. Heres a campaign image from 2005 - where we combined the participants photos with some illustration. Proved to be a winning formula that was used in every subsequent campaign.

08.01.2022 This looks like an interesting new series, nice font picks, especially Trade Gothic. My top 5 "go to" typefaces would have to be: 1. Helvetica Neue - just a great general purpose font. Readable and neutral, without pretentions or attitude. Lots of font weights plus condensed and extended versions for maximum versatility 2. Frutiger - like helvetica but with a fresher, more modern look. 3. Futura - a more geometric typeface, with nice round Os and sharp corners on the Ns and M...s on the non-bold versions of the font. Has a clean bauhausian feel. And the Extra Bold is super chunky! 4. Museo - a terrific display font, sort of halfway between a sans and and a slab serif. Looks fresh and contemporary, respectable with hint of fun. 5. Zapf Dingbats - indispensable for round or square bullets! http://www.myfonts.com/newsletters/mff/20170118.html
