20.01.2022 So here she is, all weatherboards stripped! Ive had a couple of weeks away from the job to let the timber settle, after a full wash down with the citric acid. After PH testing and checking the moisture level of the weatherboards throughout the week, Ive actually started priming. 18.01.2022 So heres a couple of aerials of this full strip and repaint Ive started. Its a big old job but its going to look great once its completed. Stripping of weatherboards is under way! Started by applying SmartStrip Green with a 24hr soak time before removing the acrylic textured top coat. Following that, SmartStrip Red will be used to remove the lead based coatings from these boards with a 48hr soak time before removal. 10.01.2022 Dulux Rust Effect Completed! . Mixed feelings on the final result to be totally honest. I think the final sealer coat, particularly if it’s being applied internal, is definitely not essential. It just had so much more character after the two coats of solution were applied. . Instructions were followed to the letter for each coat here, so would be lying if I said I wasn’t personally a little bit disappointed with the outcome.... .
