25.01.2022 Only in Australia
25.01.2022 Food on the road. Breaky burgers and random bits and pieces. #sundaybreakfast
23.01.2022 Trying to keep cool, he's not used to 40 degree heat (for that matter, neither are we)! Think he got a bit offended being tied up outside the pool yesterday watching us cool off.
23.01.2022 Throwback to not so long ago at a beautiful beachside #freecamp in North Qld. Top spot, beautiful views, nice memorial and a take away shop/bar just steps away. Can't complain at all. (This was one for vans/vehicles, there's a separate tent only one just a bit further up.)
22.01.2022 Thank you to all our valued customers for your support this year.
21.01.2022 Hello 2019! What escapes have you got planned this year to take you back to nature and away from the rat race? Even planning them calms the soul.
21.01.2022 Although we visited in the off season, the Julia Creek council and all they do to encourage visitors to the town was very noticeable. Not only was the council-owned caravan park spotless, modern and well maintained, but they also offered something that was one of our highlights so far, a sunset artisian bath, where you feel at one with nature with the stars above and beautiful views, and also equally private and away from everyone else (thanks to great design). This was inclu...ded for free in the very reasonable caravan park overnight fee. A cheese platter can also be arranged for a small cost, but they're also ok with you taking your own (which we did as we're not cheese fans). On top of that they include entrance to the local swimming pool and water park next door (never too old to jump on a slide!) and free bikes to use as well. Those extra touches don't take much but mean a lot to travellers, and I've no doubt that much thanks goes to the current managers, Phil and Marg, for all the hard work put in to make it what it is today. The council also runs the free camp and the story is that in the high season there are weekly dinners put on by local businesses, and a council shuttle bus runs between the free camp and town. What a great example of both free camps and caravan parks working in harmony to bring more visitors to a lovely small outback town.
19.01.2022 Heading west away from the cyclone (hopefully) ... today from the sun, to the rain to the most spectacular sunset, of which the photo did absolutely no justice. The sky was the most vibrant orange and pink and just incredible. There's something majestic about an outback sunset.
18.01.2022 Mental note don't wear snake pyjamas when camping... lol

14.01.2022 Thinking of taking your kids on a lap of the country, or perhaps into the nomadic lifestyle for a longer period? This is a great article about educating your child when travelling (as the name suggests) with specific and detailed suggestions, written by a lady who is both a teacher and a traveller. Well worth the read if this is something you're considering or currently doing. https://www.enchantedserendipity.com/educating-your-child-/
09.01.2022 LOVE this. Worth the read.
08.01.2022 Think the kayaking can wait until we're well out of that region! Check it out.

06.01.2022 We had to do a HEAP of decluttering before embarking on nomadic life. It took a heck of a long time, many long days, late nights (I think I barely laid my head on the pillow the night before our garage sale), up at all hours at our storage shed and it was really quite stressful. Truly came to understand the quote, "You don't own your possessions, your possessions own you." Very much a free and calm feeling when it was all finally done though. The clutter still creeps back tho...ugh, and with #buslife you notice it quickly, which is probably a good thing as it serves as a bit of a motivator to attack it. Easier than tucking it away in a cupboard in one of the spare bedrooms ... too much of that in days past. What space, even a small one, can you declutter this weekend or next week, in order to free up some energy and welcome abundance (whatever that looks like to you) into your life? (PS. Enjoying the book I borrowed that quote from Rachael Bermingham )
06.01.2022 Yes, it's been a while since the last post. We've done lots of exploring the center of this beautiful country and contemplating life. Isn't that the best thing about pulling up in the middle of nowhere with no phone service or other distractions? Some changes to come with Nomadic Dreaming this year. Stay tuned.
05.01.2022 We love our bus but we also love housesitting as we make our way through the country. People are always asking how we find the sits ... info on the attached page. Please feel free to share this post if you think it would be of value to someone else you know. https://nomadicdreaming.com.au/pages/housesitting
04.01.2022 Bit of a #lakeview in the background for today's work. Nice spot here and really peaceful (the bonus of traveling in the off season), sharing the caravan park with only a couple of others. Usually packed out in peak times. There is a relatively large population of flies however. Better get back to it so the views can be properly enjoyed later this afternoon.
02.01.2022 Non-slip bases make it harder to accidentally knock our cups over. But if you do, they're unbreakable, guaranteed for 10 years.
