25.01.2022 Had a fantastic day photographing the autumn festival yesterday, put it in your calendar for next year!

24.01.2022 Koppio Smithy Museum Shortly after we purchased our first caravan in 2011, I bought our very first Caravan and Motorhome magazine. It was about the Eyre Peninsula which immediately made it to the "Bucket List" even though it took us a few years to get here. One of the segments was about the Koppio Smithy museum, which was a must visit location on this trip. [ 487 more words ] http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au//eyre-peninsula-koppio-her/

23.01.2022 I had fond memories of a visit to Katoomba in about 1984 - it was my first "backpacker" outing on the way back from an interview at Hawkesbury Ag College for acceptance in the Horse Studies course (For the record I did get in but ended up at the ANU instead). I remembered Katoomba as a sleepy little village but we got one heck of a shock! [ 233 more words ] http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au//central-nsw-blue-mountain/

21.01.2022 Congratulations to the Division 8 team for winning the Grand Final once again after being a bit of an underdog all season. Well done all!!! http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au//congratulations-to-ballan/

21.01.2022 Port Neil As we slowly made our way up the East Coast from Tumby Bay our initial stop was Port Neil, a lovely seaside town with a beautiful foreshore. It is also within the Tumby Bay council area so once again the dogs were banished from the jetty walk. The fishing here seemed pretty good and I watched on guy pull our three squid in about three minutes. [ 449 more words ] http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au//central-east-eyre-cleve-a/

18.01.2022 I love most animals but am not that keen on things that bite, sting or slither, with snakes being on the top of the list. I am a member of our fantastic local camera club CHiPA (Central Highlands Imaging and Photography Association) which runs a photography workshop each month in Gordon. Last week the workshop was about photographing reptiles and I was more than a little apprehensive about getting close up and personal with snakes, spiders and lizards! 15.01.2022 Well, it is over for another year!. The Ballan Autumn Festival partied all day yesterday to the theme of Alice in Wonderland. Being tough country people here a few little storms and some flying marquees didn't stop us, but luckily the weather cooperated during the parade and subsequent activities. Special guests included our Federal Member for Ballarat Catherine King MP who again volunteered her time to judge the parade. 15.01.2022 Lithgow We had a couple of days up our sleeve so we stopped at Lithgow for a couple of days to have a look around and take a day trip to Katoomba. Lithgow is also quite an old town but has a service/industrial background and is missing the opulence of the wealthy mining towns. With a population of 14,000 it is now a reasonably modern rural town with opportunities to view some of the industrial heritage - the town boasts the first meat freezing works and more importantly the first iron manufacturing in Australia. 13.01.2022 The much awaited Ballan Black Nite Black Lite exhibition started tonight. It is the Winter Solstice celebration of local artists, community groups, traders transforming our streetscape shop windows with black UV fluorescent lighting Had a great time looking at the many displays and trying to get some good photos. It is well worth a visit so make sure you get down to the Ballan main street between 5.30 and 10pm, and enjoy the displays and a hot drink on a cold winter night! The event finishes on June 24. I have uploaded some of the photos to the website. http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au//ballan-black-nite-black-l/

09.01.2022 February and March are festival months in our part of the world. The annual Ballan Vintage Tractor pull was held on February 18. The event is run by the Ballan District Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Club was founded in 1987 and has a large membership of car and machinery enthusiasts. The weather was good and the crowds large and enthusiastic. The event also saw the opening of the Ronaldson-Tippett Heritage Museum which represents a fantastic effort by the club and the donors and sponsors who made it happen. 09.01.2022 Ballan Autumn Festival photos now available, please have a look at the many fantastic displays.

08.01.2022 Tumby Bay After leaving Port Lincoln we followed out anti clockwise route around the Eyre Peninsula. After a quick detour via Louth Bay which we were not that keen on, we arrived in beautiful Tumby Bay at lunchtime. We were rather peeved during our initial drive up the esplanade when we saw the "no dogs" signs on the main grass areas near the jetty. 08.01.2022 There's a lot of magic happening in Ballan this weekend!

08.01.2022 Hartley Village is not far out of Lithgow on the road to Katoomba. Like Hill End, it is managed by the National Parks and Wildlife services who are doing a great job looking after this collection of 17 historic buildings dating from 1837 onwards. There are several walks, a gallery and a coffee shop and the church and grounds can be hired for weddings and other events. 06.01.2022 Hi all, Just a quick post in case anyone is wondering if Nomadic Dreamtime Photography has disappeared! We are indulging autumn with several trips with the caravan so there is limited availability for photography sessions until July. I have been busy totally revamping the website and the travel blog so if you are interested please pop over to the Tales of a Blonde Nomad http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au/news/tales/ http://nomadicdreamtime.com.au//hello-from-the-blonde-nom/

03.01.2022 The second half of 2017 was a write off courtesy of major surgery to patch up the broken body, but I did manage to get some use out of my spare time by honing my digital art skills in Photoshop and Topaz. The picture was taken early on a gorgeous foggy morning at Chaffey Dam near Tamworth and processed with textures and Topaz Adjust.
