22.01.2022 I have had a lovely day at the Arts & Crafts Expo. Met some lovely people who were interested and brought some of my African fabrics, baskets, Ndebele dolls, Bone Beads etc. I am thinking that at the next Expo in September that I may have 2 stands so that I can display more items. Now I have to work on revamping my shop on this page so that the locals can see what I have to offer, whilst my Etsy shop will be for International buyers who like African beads etc.

21.01.2022 New items have arrived. COVID has hit parts of Africa very hard so some of the artisans are unable to work and earn money to feed their families.
21.01.2022 New arrivals a few of which are going to be a birthday gift for a family member. Recycled Tusker beer bottles which have been turned into candles with a hand carved wooden top from Zanzibar. The candles scent is very tropical - Zanzibar Island Spice scent -think tropical fruits like papaya, mango, coconut and citrus mixed with the warmth of cinnamon, cardamon, vanilla and bergamot. Each candle comes with its own handmade African fabric bag. Masaii beaded necklaces handmade with small glass beads in traditional designs from Kenya Earrings -These earrings have been hand made using recycled cans by men in Kenya. Each one has been hand beaten and etched to create a matching pair, very lightweight

19.01.2022 Today has been a very busy day. Worked as a Home Care Support Worker in my local community this morning, then for the rest of the day I have been uploading beads onto my Etsy shop and I have managed to upload a few items here onto my Facebook shop too. 18.01.2022 Givemore Dizanuhupe is originally from Zimbabwe but was forced to leave his home there and fled to South Africa. He now creates these lovely pieces of art. I will have some of these for sale at the next local event that I go too.
18.01.2022 More products are now on my shop here on Facebook. A slow process as the internet at certain times of the day is very slow and frustrating! These products are showcasing what I will be taking to local events especially the next Arts & Crafts Expo which is due to be 15th November.
18.01.2022 This basket has been handmade by Hlezipho Mdluli in Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa. Each of these traditional baskets are handmade using indigenous raw materials. The type of basket created varies from area to area depending on the raw materials available in the area and the use of the basket. Each basket can take up to one month to create and each one is unique. Materials commonly used include: Ilala Palm, and Ncebe (Bark of Wild Banana). All the colours are natural, obtained from boiling roots, leaves, berries and bark from the local flora. Designs used are symbolic.
17.01.2022 Barkcloth Beads, Handmade in Uganda by Mzuribeads, chunky, lightweight, with an interesting texture. These beautiful necklaces have been created using Barkcloth beads in Red, Black and Natural Brown together with other chunky beads by Julie here in Queensland, a regular customer of my Etsy shop.

07.01.2022 So fingers crossed the Arts & Crafts Expo should be back on - Sunday 19th July at The Merrilands Hall Atherton. Restricted numbers of 100 people at anyone time in the Hall, only 1 person at each stall, sanitising of hands upon entry to the hall, social distancing to be maintained at all times

06.01.2022 Kudhindha fabric created in Zimbabwe. Luckily enough I sourced these two large vintage pieces for sale here in Queensland. Apparently brought 20 years ago but never used, just boxed and kept safe. You can see the block printing technique if you look closely at the fabric

02.01.2022 Australia Post is struggling to deliver orders especially abroad to the USA, Canada etc. They are still not able to deliver to some countries. So please note if you order Internationally from my Etsy shop your order may be shipped by sea with Australia Post. Orders going through Los Angeles are being further delayed.
