23.01.2022 So next time you are concerned about caterpillars just remember they become butterflies & are important for our ecological balance! This is the Orchard Swallowtail butterfly. The butterflies have been in abundance this year because the drought affected the wasp population. Enjoy the fanciful pretty delights of nature! Another spot to see pretty dragonflies is Roma Street Parklands!

08.01.2022 This is what happens when you don’t poison lawn grubs! When you see the brown occurring & the ground’s dry, soak the lawn with water over several days. The lawn grubs hate it & surface & move on, but better still the birds have a feast. This is better than feeding the birds . There’s 2 young ones with this pair but they flew up when I came out! Caio

07.01.2022 Mango season in Brisbane. I love that our mango ripen about 6 weeks after the northern season. I run out of time before Christmas to make chutney, but in Brisbane we can make it at our leisure in January!

07.01.2022 Di dove sei? (where are you from? ) originally Sono Tedesca, but #Australiana! But I’m called Nonna instead of Oma, adopting Steve’s Italian heritage! So if I’m going to call myself nonna then maybe I should attempt the language. When I can’t find the answer in Italian my German pops up, so I realised I learnt more German than I thought I did. So a refresher in #German is on the cards! Like most folks my family inspire me! My grandgirls are learning Italian so I thought I’d try a beginners course with @CaioBella! Watch out for more updates in #Italian!
