23.01.2022 Do you know the Aboriginal meaning of the word Enoggera? The name is of the Turrbal phrase youara-ngarea meaning literally "sing-play" or song and dance. It refers to a ceremonial site used for dancing. It is said to have first applied to a site near the mouth of Breakfast Creek. It is possible, however, that the name was independently applied to a site at the place at presently known as Enoggera. This is fitting for the centre as it originally started as The Enoggera Presbyterian Church in 1915. The timber church was extended in 1939 and a large timber hall was constructed beside the church where it is believed ballet dance lessons were held.

18.01.2022 Let us introduce you to Nook Early Learning. We are only new, we began our transformation journey earlier this year in February when our current owners, purchased a tired and dilapidated business (Enoggera Early Education). Seeing the unique character in the buildings and the possibilities for the children, a new chapter began. New play environments, new resources, new sensory gardens, natural grass, new curriculum, new additions, qualified and experienced Educators and the a...ppointment of a management group who are industry leaders are just a few of the many changes and improvements made. Nook is now a beautiful boutique Early Learning Centre that is under new ownership and management. We are fortunate enough to be in a beautifully restored, heritage listed building that has been able to maintain its character and charm. So why not pop in and see us, we’d love to show you around. Our children love Yoga Wednesday with Miss Eve.

Cutting can be quite challenging for young children but our Educators are always on hand to provide support.

06.01.2022 Messy play like finger painting is important to every child’s development. It helps the body and brain integrate information, such as that needed for later spatial concepts, math and language. It’s also a lot of fun. From mixing colours and making patterns in the paint, the children then used a piece of paper and by placing it on top of the pattern they had created, took a print of it. The smiles on their faces say it all.
