25.01.2022 Visitors to Noonbah this year might be interested to know that the Vergemont channels are running again - after some storms in the district a few days ago, the creek began to flow and seven channelas are now running well. We are grateful to be having such a wonderful start to the season.

23.01.2022 A Red-tailed Black Cockatoo soars over the outback landscape.

22.01.2022 How's the view from Flat Top? The Ringer enjoying the view, a cold drink and a sunset platter. We are thinking of putting together some cheese and nibble platters for campers and guests to order. What do you think, good idea? What is your favourite thing to have on a good grazing platter?

21.01.2022 Nature's brushstrokes never cease to amaze us. What a glorious outback sunset! Thanks to @seewhatdsees for this spectacular image.

14.01.2022 Noonbah Station had been fortunate enough to receive 77mm of rain and still falling! Our single biggest fall in over ten years! What a fantastic weather change, we hope it fills many rain gauges on the way through. Please if you have a booking with us, phone or message us re the state of the dirt road and the campsites before turning off the bitumen road. Off to jump in puddles now!

12.01.2022 The Old Schoolhouse at Noonbah started life as a Stockman’s cottage and housed a property worker. Eventually it was vacant and the Emmott kids needed a place to do their day to day schoolwork for Mt. Isa School of the Air - the endless correspondence papers. Angus, Duncan and Sally would work at their school papers there, sometimes with the help of a governess, and at times with their Mum. After they finished school it stood empty and was used for storage. We decided to renov...ate it for accomodation and with the guidance of Ross Burgum, our talented family carpenter with a love of bush buildings. He breathed life into the building and added lots of special little touches. For instance, the hat rack as you come in the door is made from the top of one of the old school desks. We have maintained the rustic exterior but have tried to infuse it with some rural elegance. The bathroom sink is hand fashioned by Angus from a local stone. Lots of love went into this little place! Come try our queen bed, air conditioned, fully self contained Old Schoolhouse one day soon.

12.01.2022 What a magical combination - a night by an Outback waterhole and a stunning night sky.

11.01.2022 Not all of our visitors arrive by four wheel drive! We have a large family of Brown Quail living around the Noonbah homestead at present. They were so close yesterday evening that Angus had to back up to fit this one in the frame.

10.01.2022 Thanks to @seewhatdsees for sharing this image of the early morning sky. This magnificent photo was well worth the effort of getting up early - but then we weren’t the ones that had to do it!

10.01.2022 Meet another friendly face at Noonbah: Banjo, our Koolie who is always very excited to meet new people. He will happily join in a natural history tour or bird watching, and is an enthusiastic partaker of smoko. Like everyone else at Noonbah, he is very food motivated! This good boy is celebrating his third birthday this week, but still has the exuberance of a puppy. Thanks for this cracker shot @seewhatdsees!

08.01.2022 Noonbah Station has had lots of visitors from all over Australia and some from overseas. This weekend we welcomed a young woman from the mountains of Peru, quite a different landscape to ours. It was great to show her our little slice of the Outback. Make plans to come enjoy a bush sunset with us one day soon. Thanks to Fergus Emmott for this awesome shot!

08.01.2022 Catching the last rays with Josie, one of our three current rehabilitation kangaroos. Thanks to @ameliae for this shot.

07.01.2022 How keen are you to go on holidays? Would you drive into this? Some of our current visitors did, and made it safely despite a little excitement on the way! Noonbah finished up with a beautiful 142mm of rain or just a whisker under six inches in the old scale. We have a deafening cacophony of frogs at night, the dragons are laying eggs and the birds are nesting. The land is turning green, the river and the channels are running and our dam is full. Life is good. Thanks to Michelle Fischer for the amazing photo.
