24.01.2022 Oh I want one of these!! (It's a Llama) Two actually, they are herd animals. These beautiful creatures were at the Nambour Show Day, and yes, they really were groomed with a vacuum cleaner just prior to the Grand Parade. They belong to Ottaba Llamas, or see www.llamawalks.com.au.

23.01.2022 How's this for a Christmas tree?! Look carefully and you'll see the branches have been carefully adorned with Christmas decorations. It's on the corner of Eumundi Range Road and Sunrise Road, and makes me smile every time I drive past it, so thank you!!

21.01.2022 Who's watching who? The seagull watched the stingray slowly pass by, as did the school of fish outside The Boathouse on the Noosa River. The next day we visited the Cooroora woodworkers show in Cooroy, and what did we find? More stingrays! These were created by Kevin Dick of Kellick Marine Concepts.....

18.01.2022 "Normal" river birds vs "holiday" river birds - both made me smile! The giant flamingo may have startled other wildlife, but was safely anchored....yes, it's that big!

18.01.2022 How's this for a mirror image?! The water was just like glass, taken in noosa waters this morning (so not as pretty a backdrop as our dam). But happy to report he (or she) had a successful morning cruising around the edges of the canal fishing.....

15.01.2022 Spring rain, and the hinterland is lush again. Our border collie, Jessie, entertained herself watching the birds and dragonflies flitting around the dam, she didn't notice our resident water dragon who was sitting just behind....

12.01.2022 There are a lot of dog friendly cafes and restaurants around us, but this is the first time I have seen a Dog Menu! Land & Sea Brewery, Noosaville, is a great spot for a beer, with or without your dog.... https://www.facebook.com/landandseabrewery/

09.01.2022 If you look carefully you'll see why this chair was vacated very quickly this afternoon! This gorgeous water dragon sat very quietly, watching our (ball obsessed it has to be said!) border collie, who had no idea he or she was there, and patiently chose the perfect time to exit.....

08.01.2022 The Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival is next weekend (18th August). It's the only day of the year when you can climb Mt Cooroy, at 438m high it dominates the Noosa Hinterland. These are some of my photos from last year, it's well worth the effort. See more info at www.cooroyrotary.org.au

07.01.2022 How beautiful is the hinterland? I was privileged to watch the sun rise and the horses appear out of the mist yesterday morning on another country property....

06.01.2022 "What's that?" thought the roo over by the dam. "That" is our horse rolling in the dust, followed by a good shake. I know chickens love a dust bath, didn't realise horses do too!! Both the roos and the horse live at Verrierdale, just behind Coolum beach, a lovely country drive from the Cottage....

04.01.2022 We are proud of this award from booking.com, it means our guests love Magnolia Cottage (almost!) as much as us! The hinterland is beautiful at the moment, lots of tropical plants in flower and the dams are full, it's a great spot to get away from it all, and we are pet friendly too.....
