25.01.2022 A few flowers out on a very dreary day here. We have had a normal cool July, cold mornings and a beautiful day. The names are on the flowers.

24.01.2022 These are a few of my seedling Dens in flower. Plus a couple of others.

23.01.2022 A couple more out today, I don't have a colour preference as I love them all. I bred the Rlc. Redland Planet and the Rlc. Burdekin Dawn was a gift.

21.01.2022 Thought I would share an orchid I bred and named to celebrate Noosa Club's 30th anniversary. Rlc. Noosa Pearl 'Miss Cinnabar'. It is 175 mm across. A very reliable flowerer.

19.01.2022 Most of the time I am not to impressed with the imported but there are a few good ones. If possible buy one of these Rth. Shion Free 'Little Boy'

19.01.2022 The first time in years my plants have not been to a show. I have a few Cymbidiums so I can compete with our southern members who now live here. The Ddc. is not as long this year. Still pleasing to the eye.

18.01.2022 Having a very Merry Christmas celebration at Pier 11. With a great bunch of people from our club.

18.01.2022 Some of our Orchids flowering now

17.01.2022 We are hard at work setting up our Spring Show. From Julia in the Kitchen to Ray our President getting the orchids ready and all our other members chipping in. So come along tomorrow and Saturday.

16.01.2022 Noosa Club members winning orchids & foliage at the Maroochydore show this weekend. Congratulations to Marty & Anita (Grand Champion), John & Kay (Reserve Champion, Champion Species and Champion Specimen), Ray, Lois and Gabrielle

16.01.2022 This is 3 I brought inside for Kaye to enjoy. I get out of buying presents.

16.01.2022 We also have our foliage plants and what a collection today

15.01.2022 A few flowers out. Looking pretty but no where to go.

15.01.2022 Can the judges comment on this orchid I bred? I know it is hard of a photo. The inflorescence has 6 flowers, a little cluttered which are 100mm across. The substance is very heavy. The plant is C. Gerard Nappert X C. Street's Ahead. The colour is far better than the photo shows.

14.01.2022 Not sure what to do well this will help

11.01.2022 In today’s meeting we had our expert members helping in critiquing other members Orchids. Here is David critiquing plants. The critiquing helps the members know what’s going on with their orchids and how to improve them.

11.01.2022 This Cattleya is flowering for the first time after 5 years from a tube. 3 flowers.

11.01.2022 See you there on 1st February 2020 at 1pm Tinbeerwah Hall Cooroy-Noosa Service Rd Tinbeerwah Qld, 4563

09.01.2022 Some colour out now. The names are on the photos.

09.01.2022 A few out for July.

09.01.2022 DENDROBIUM SPECIOSUM (ROCK ORCHID) Speciosums are the kings of the dendrobium family, they are found all over Australia and have the most amazing scent when flo...wering. Speciosums take up to fifteen years to flower from a seedling, this makes the flowering size plants worth a little more than your average dendrobium. Flowering size divisions start from about $45.00 and some rare plants can fetch prices over $500.00. If your speciosum is going to flower this year, you should already have flower spikes growing. As the sheaf covering the flower spike starts to split, keep an eye on it to ensure that the sheaf splits the full length of the flower spike, or the flower will get stuck in the sheaf. Check for insects daily as caterpillars love the buds, use a good systemic insecticide. Once they have finished flowering, check the mix to see if you need to repot them this year. 09.01.2022 I bred a Cattleya orchid and registered it as Rlc. Noosa Pearl to celebrate the 30 anniversary of the Noosa Orchid Society. Most of them have turned out to be whites but a few are mauve's. I like this one.

08.01.2022 A few more out today. I will put the names names on the photos.

08.01.2022 SNEAK PEEK Landscaping is about to start on the Noosa Botanic Shade Garden. It's the final piece in the project, with the garden canopy, fencing and entry gate ...now complete. Members of the Noosa District Orchid & Foliage Society and the Noosa Botanic Gardens - Friends had their first look at the new structure recently and liked what they saw. Opening date is early next year. See more

07.01.2022 My own small show.

07.01.2022 We thought you would like to see the orchids that have been bought to today’s meeting

07.01.2022 The end to a very successful Spring Show.. here are winners being presented with their prizes. Not all though, look out for more

06.01.2022 I love semi-alba Cattleyas. I have posted this flower before but I am thrilled each time it flowers. It is an Australian bred seedling and I think it is magnifi...cent. I have flowered it a little better than this but as anyone who grows orchids knows the weather controls every thing. Rlc. Paradise River 'John' See more

06.01.2022 I look forward each year for the flowering of Phaius Charlesworthii. I find the colour magnificent. It is hard to find colours that come close to the Orchids. I have neglected the plants this year but they still put on a great show.

06.01.2022 I had to take a photo of Rlc. Sylvia Fry 'Bette' growing on a tree. I got sick of it flowering poorly in the bush house so tied it on a tree and here is the result this year, blew me away such a beautiful orchid siting out in the weather with an award quality flower.

05.01.2022 Just a few flowers out now. I find the quality is not as good as a month ago but still makes a bit of colour in the bush house. I am pleased there is no shows as most of my plants are finished.

05.01.2022 We are now on Instagram @Noosaorchidsociety so come and Follows Cheers

03.01.2022 A couple of more photos taken this afternoon of Den. Cosmic Gold. It is brightly coloured and glows.

02.01.2022 I love Dendrobiums, they last so long and are quiet easy to grow when you know their growing habitat. I grow under a solid roof all year. We get very cool night...s in Gympie but normally have warm days in the low twenties. I grow without heat but keep these plants dry. Water and fertilise copiously during the Summer growing season. 02.01.2022 These are a couple in flower now. The yellow is one I bred and felt it was so good I named it after myself. The names are on the photos.

02.01.2022 I know a lot of people will say just another white Cattleya, but these are both ones I have bred. The Rlc. Alice Green 'Mum' is one I bred and named after my Mother. Mum is no longer with us but this orchid is in flower for Mother's Day.
