25.01.2022 The microbiome is the term for the prolific and varied bacteria that inhabit our bodies, most famously known for how it affects and modulates the gut. When it comes to weight loss the right bacteria can help to make the switch to foods that are more in alignment with our goals. We need to retrain the ecosystem’s within the body to want and seek out the foods to thrive on. A good example of this is if you start eating kale out of nowhere and you experience discomfort or an in...crease of symptoms which the brain may interpret as being a negative thing. After a number of times eating kale the brain will start to adjust and also recognise the large nutrient download from eating this type of food is beneficial and it will switch to create the drive to eat more of it. So the relationship with and signals from our bacteria can either cause us to crave the wrong foods or the right ones. This can help re the guilt people feel or belief that they have a lack of willpower when making a diet change, as its actually the inner environment that is compelling us to eat the foods we know aren’t good for us. How do you re train the biodiversity in the gut? Get new nutrients into the body in the form of a broader range of vegetables and herbs.. think all the root veg, parsley and coriander (which also cleanse and alkalise). A worldwide study found that it was an African region that had the best and most varied microbiome and determined that the reason was because they consumed a huge variety of vegetable and plant matter. #eatyourveg #ourinnerworld #guthealth #microbiome #healthybacteria #weightloss #healthgoals #eattherainbow

16.01.2022 Hawaiian massage can be taken to another level with underbody techniques. These strokes are performed between the person’s body and the massage table itself and means that as well as feeling amazing, areas of the body can be reached and worked on in a different way often with gravity helping out. It’s a sublime feeling when your body is being soothed, wrapped and held up by the therapist’s arms. Sometimes this super nurturing touch can induce strong feelings and emotions which are always welcome and always a good thing. If it comes up it can be let out and Hawaiian massage is a wonderful modality for clearing and healing. #healingtouch #letgo #kahunamassage #nextlevel #massagenoosa #noosamassage #sunshinecoastmassage #massagetherapy

11.01.2022 With so much ‘out there’ now with regards to the wellness industry, it can become quite overwhelming re what to do/eat/take that will work best for you. While it’s true that a bit of trial and error is a necessity when finding what works best for you and your body, at the end of the day it’s the many small things done often that add up to having the biggest impact on our lives. No one should expect a bottle of pills to change their lives or that taking a yoga class here and t...here will have a measurable impact, or that taking collagen will be the answer to all their problems or to expect miracles from a cup of herbal tea. However, key supplements, yoga/ meditation and herbal tea (and regular massage) all taken regularly and in conjunction are examples of things that will definitely have an positive impact on your wellbeing. Just like regular walks, a consistent sleep pattern, self care practises and healthy eating as a mainstay will all work for you in supporting your health and well-being... and as we all inherently know - only serves as another reminder that what we do daily, or in other words our ‘chosen lifestyle’, is what matters most when it comes to health and wellness. So therefore when it comes to making changes, incorporating small doable things that move you in the direction you want to go is the best way to achieve your goals and create new habits. #healthisyourwealth #lifestyleiseverything #healthyeating #healthylife #dailyhabits #smallbutpowerful #consistencyworks #longtermfocus #turtlewontherace #newhabits #nothingdrastic #supplements

11.01.2022 Easy Pea and Asparagus Dip When you’re low on fresh produce you can always whip up this nutritiously healthy dip. It’s made from tin peas, jarred asparagus a handful of rocket/ spinach (whatever lettuc-eg greens you have) and a bit of coconut yoghurt... it didn’t even need seasoning. You can play around with measurements and quantities to taste, add other herbs, oil or lemon juice for flavour variations.... This is a light and summery substitute to hummus that is still full of all the good stuff. #health #healthydip #dips #summer #peas #snacks #easymeals #delicious #tm #blend #endlessoptionswhenyoublendfood

10.01.2022 I’m a highly qualified massage therapist who now specialises in the Hawaiian style of massage. I have trained in Hawaii and also Australia with the better known... trainers. Hawaiian massage to me is the most effective and enjoyable massage of all and as well as feeling good it is wonderfully healing and uplifting to give and receive. If you haven’t tried this style of massage you really must. My main areas of expertise are massage alongside natural health and nutrition. I am extensively trained in several styles and variations of Hawaiian massage which has spanned into over 15yrs of massage and spa experience. I also have qualifications in Thai Massage, Reflexology, Bowen Therapy, Oncology masssge, Shiatsu Back Walking, Hot Stone, Maori Mirimiri Massage, Spinal Touch, Polynesian Bodywork, Spa treatments and more, however I am not offering these treatments at present. The only way to really appreciate how good Hawaiian massage feels is to receive one yourself. So, if you haven’t yet experienced the luxurious delights of this massageI would recommend that you book in and try it at least once in your lifetime. #noosamassage #sunshinebeachmassage #lomilomimassage #noosamassagetherapy #noosamassagetherpist #signaturetreatment #femaleonly

02.01.2022 I had a conversation with a caring Mum recently about massage for kids. Over time she has wanted to treat her girls to massages for their well-being and for general time out but has never been able to find a therapist who will massage children. I find this bizarre and disappointing. I’ve massaged babies and toddlers of all ages up to 18. Smaller kids often don’t need a long massage and if they can’t lay still the aid of an iPad can help them to enjoy it (extra indulgence and ...fitting for the generation) for longer. It’s so beneficial for their growing bodies and teaches them about taking care of themselves and what it means in their life to be relaxed and calm. Massage can also help kids with ADHD and Autism. Studies now show that social communication, sensory processing and adaptive behavior all improve as a result of regular massage. As well as greater anger management, improved mood, increased sociability, and better sleep at the end of a 6 week massage study.. they sound like good reasons to me. #massageforkids #timeout #growingbodies #calmyourmind #touchtherapy #nevertooyoungorold #giftoftouch
