11.01.2022 Down amongst the pneumatophores .. these breathing tubes help mangroves absorb gases directly from the atmosphere in their otherwise waterlogged environment .. they also help with sediment capture & provide 3 dimensional structure in an otherwise mostly 2 dimensional world .. so creatures can hide & thrive here. These are within the Noosa River Fish Habitat Area & adjacent the Weyba Creek/Keyser Island Conservation Parks - the management/protection of which leaves a lot to b...e desired if some very unfortunate damage we’ve recently seen going on in there is any indication.
