25.01.2022 A few out for July.

24.01.2022 Some of our Orchids flowering now

24.01.2022 I bred a Cattleya orchid and registered it as Rlc. Noosa Pearl to celebrate the 30 anniversary of the Noosa Orchid Society. Most of them have turned out to be whites but a few are mauve's. I like this one.

23.01.2022 We had a lovely End of year lunch today, with our members at Pier 11 We had a door prize and raffle prizes.. Photos of the lucky winners below.. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2021

23.01.2022 Most of the time I am not to impressed with the imported but there are a few good ones. If possible buy one of these Rth. Shion Free 'Little Boy'

23.01.2022 This Cattleya is flowering for the first time after 5 years from a tube. 3 flowers.

21.01.2022 On a nice showery day I thought I would share some photos of our garden. A lot of people think we only have orchids but this is part of our garden. This is what it used to look like before a bit of ill health. Hope you enjoy.

20.01.2022 My own small show.

19.01.2022 I love Cluster Cattleyas, they may take up a bit of room but the flowers a well worth it. These are a couple out at present. The names are on the photos. I also like growing curly dens as a mature plant flowers most of the year.

17.01.2022 Thought I would share an orchid I bred and named to celebrate Noosa Club's 30th anniversary. Rlc. Noosa Pearl 'Miss Cinnabar'. It is 175 mm across. A very reliable flowerer.

16.01.2022 I know a lot of people will say just another white Cattleya, but these are both ones I have bred. The Rlc. Alice Green 'Mum' is one I bred and named after my Mother. Mum is no longer with us but this orchid is in flower for Mother's Day.

15.01.2022 A few flowers out. Looking pretty but no where to go.

15.01.2022 Not sure what to do well this will help

14.01.2022 I look forward each year for the flowering of Phaius Charlesworthii. I find the colour magnificent. It is hard to find colours that come close to the Orchids. I have neglected the plants this year but they still put on a great show.

14.01.2022 Just a few flowers out now. I find the quality is not as good as a month ago but still makes a bit of colour in the bush house. I am pleased there is no shows as most of my plants are finished.

13.01.2022 In today’s meeting we had our expert members helping in critiquing other members Orchids. Here is David critiquing plants. The critiquing helps the members know what’s going on with their orchids and how to improve them.

13.01.2022 Can the judges comment on this orchid I bred? I know it is hard of a photo. The inflorescence has 6 flowers, a little cluttered which are 100mm across. The substance is very heavy. The plant is C. Gerard Nappert X C. Street's Ahead. The colour is far better than the photo shows.

12.01.2022 These are a couple in flower now. The yellow is one I bred and felt it was so good I named it after myself. The names are on the photos.

12.01.2022 I love Dendrobiums, they last so long and are quiet easy to grow when you know their growing habitat. I grow under a solid roof all year. We get very cool night...s in Gympie but normally have warm days in the low twenties. I grow without heat but keep these plants dry. Water and fertilise copiously during the Summer growing season. See more

10.01.2022 These are a few of my seedling Dens in flower. Plus a couple of others.

08.01.2022 We also have our foliage plants and what a collection today

08.01.2022 We thought you would like to see the orchids that have been bought to today’s meeting

07.01.2022 A couple of more photos taken this afternoon of Den. Cosmic Gold. It is brightly coloured and glows.

04.01.2022 A few more out today. I will put the names names on the photos.

02.01.2022 This is 3 I brought inside for Kaye to enjoy. I get out of buying presents.

01.01.2022 The first time in years my plants have not been to a show. I have a few Cymbidiums so I can compete with our southern members who now live here. The Ddc. is not as long this year. Still pleasing to the eye.
