24.01.2022 The NPA Friday Environment Forum group had a lovely picnic at Noosa Botanic Gardens last Friday. As you can see from the photos, the weather was magnificent and everyone enjoyed the plants and birdlife.

23.01.2022 Our first Friday Environment Forum is to be held this Friday February 12th. Due to popular demand and a restriction on numbers due to COVID, the quota for tickets is exceeded and there is only the opportunity to be on a waiting list. To be on the waiting list, register via https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/friday-environment-forum-bi The tickets for the FEF on February 26th will be released on Monday Feb 16th via the FEF page on noosaparks.org.au

20.01.2022 Thanks to the invaluable contribution of all our hard working volunteers at the Visitor Information Centre Noosa Parks Association was recently able to make its latest payment towards the its Ringtail/Yurol Forestry Project which will add 2400 hectares to the National Park estate.

20.01.2022 Thank you so much Terri Trivett Art. Your support is greatly appreciated.

17.01.2022 On Friday we had a full house (or the quota allowed) to learn from Dr Lisa Ryan about the ambitious ClimateWatch program which enables citizen scientists to record the species and their behaviour as a record of what is actually happening in the environment. Our next Friday Forum is to be held on April 23rd. Brittany Elliot and Dr Ben Gilby (USC) will share their findings from coastal beach dune research with a focus on the science behind restoration and rehabilitation of san...d dunes. This is important information for reducing weeds and planting the correct plants to save our coastal dunes. Registration for the forum is essential through the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/coastal-beach-dune-vegetati

16.01.2022 Our last Friday Environment Forum with Paul Hilton was very informative with everyone in the audience engrossed in his stories about the meaningless slaughter for shark fins, manta ray gills and other products. It was very sad and rather depressing to hear and see the devastation that man has on many animal species but important that we are educated from someone who has first-hand knowledge. Paul Hilton has certainly fought and is still fighting for the conservation of animals. Stay tuned for information on the next Friday Environment Forum which will be on March 12th.

15.01.2022 This is our next Friday Environment Forum on April 9th. Registration is essential through this link- https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/climatewatch-with-dr-lisa-r

09.01.2022 The topic for the next Friday Environment Forum on March 12th is: The Effect of Fire on K’gari and other Australian Landscapes with Rod Fensham from the Queensland Herbarium and University of Queensland. For details and to register which is essential, go to https://noosaparks.org.au/friday-environment-forum/ Hope to see you there!

06.01.2022 On Friday, the Friday Environment Forum held their Christmas Break-up at Mary Cairncross Reserve and from all reports, everyone had an enjoyable time. It started off with an informative talk by Michael, the manager of the Reserve, with a southern angle-headed dragon interrupting. A walk through the beautiful reserve revealed many birds, fungi, more dragons and a carpet python. Lunch began after a presentation to Sandra Lilley. A huge thank you to Di Shun Wah (and her team) for keeping the forums going through what has been a difficult year. See you all back in February!

05.01.2022 NPA management committee think this may be of interest, a concept well worth considering.

01.01.2022 Our next Friday Environment Forum is on March 26th and registration is essential. Come and listen to Tony Wellington, a nature photographer (and former Noosa Mayor) discuss his latest book and it's beautiful photographs. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/wild-about-noosa-with-tony-
